VEHICLE ID E N TIFIC A TIO N NUMBER AND RATING PLATE A com bination vehicle identification num ber and rating plate used on all m odels (fig. 1) is located on th e left door pillar. The vehicle identification num ber stam ped on the plate decodes into the inform ation shown in Figure 2.

ENGINE NUMBER The engine num ber indicates m anufacturing p lan t, m onth and day o f m anufacture, and transm ission type. A typical engine num ber w ould be F1210FA , w hich would breakdown thus: F —M anufacturing Plant (F-Flint, T-Tonaw anda) 12—M onth o f m anufacture (Decem ber) 10—Day o f m anufacture (tenth) FA—Transmission and engine type
