2019 STAFF MANUAL Thank you for choosing to work at Hermann Sons Life Camp! Working at a summer camp is not an easy decision! You have chosen to place the needs and wants of others ahead of your own. Because of your positive attitude and personal skills we’re delighted to have you as a member of our staff. We will do our very best to provide the necessary training, support and encouragement you will need to meet the challenges facing you. The over-arching theme to camp this summer is BE THE NICE KID. This is expanding on the Choose Kind theme in 2018. Summer camp allows us the opportunity to show campers that they are important and that they have a big part to play in society. Camp has a unique ability to allow campers to be themselves. To show that it’s okay to be a little wacky. To show them it’s okay to sing at meals. To dress up for the evening activity. To try new activities and fail in a safe and caring environment. To make new friends with kids and staff who are different.
BE THE NICE KID! Some kids are smarter than you, Some kids have cooler clothes than you, Some kids are better at sports than you. IT DOESN’T MATTER You have your thing too. Be the kid who can get along, Be the kid who is generous, Be the kid who is happy for others, Be the kid who does the right thing… BE THE NICE KID!
