New vice president named SAN ANTONIO – Samantha Schulmeier has been named the new Vice President of Operations and Chief Operating Officer of Hermann Sons. President and CEO Buddy Preuss made the announcement June 27. Sister Schulmeier had been serving as administrative assistant to Grand Vice President-Secretary/Treasurer Mary Beam who retired at the end of her term, which coincided with the recent Grand Lodge Convention. As Vice President of Operations Sister Schulmeier will oversee the Member Services, Underwriting and Information Technology departments. “I am excited to welcome Samantha to this position,” President Preuss said. “I have the utmost confidence in her ability to do this job and do it well. Hermann Sons is lucky to have her stepping into this role.” Sister Schulmeier has been employed

at the Home Office since February 2006. She started as a part-time floater working in various departments where she was needed. She became a full-time employee in the Member Services Department in June of that year. She became Sister Beam’s administrative assistant on Jan. 1, 2008. She has been a member since April 1985. She is an active member of Kirby Lodge where she is currently serving as vice president. She holds two associate degrees from San Antonio College, one in mathematics and one in business administration, and a bachelor of science degree in mathematics with a minor in statistics from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Annual awards banquet honors top sales agents Eight agents qualified for the Grand President’s Club in 2016 based on their sales production. They were honored at a banquet held May 20 at the Y.O.
