CONCERT IN THE PARK RESULTS

Hempfield Township “Dream Box”:
Several community members who attended the Concert in the Park were asked to write their visions for Hempfield Township on an index card and place them in the box. It was emphasized that their responses could cover anything from Parks & Recreation, to Utilities, Housing, Businesses, and more.
27 total responses were received, and the 17 results related to Hempfield Park are excerpted below, with summary of all results on the following page.
1.) “The Twp needs to promote the summer concert series better. Do more Facebook posts. Hempfield Park is only a mile from our house. We were married and had our reception in Hempfield Park. Excellent sports complex. Outstanding for family gatherings, etc. Dog park is convenient for our dog also. Just promote the concert series more. Take advantage of competing with Greensburg Summer Sounds.”

Parks Site Master Plan: Do not spend grant money on the fire department
Change zoning ordinance that prevents building a garage on property for antique cars

Hempfield Park “Selfie Contest”:
To collect input on Hempfield Park and increase social media engagement, participants were encouraged to post a picture with their favorite part of Hempfield Park on the Township Facebook page, and to comment with why they like it, or what changes might improve it.

The contest “winner” was selected by the greatest number of Facebook “likes.” Only three responses were received, below:
