Kitchen & Master Bath Remodel Bielenberg Builders, Inc. are featuring both a kitchen and a master bathroom we designed and renovated at this residence in early fall of 2016. The owners of this 2005 built residence, wanted to transform the dynamics and décor of these two spaces to blend and fit in with the rest of their home’s present décor.

The kitchen renovation was basically a facelift involving the relocation of new appliances and removing/re-arranging some of the cabinetry sizes. New colors and textures were chosen to complement the existing cabinetry, tile floors, the existing wall paint colors of the kitchen and adjacent rooms of this home’s open floor plan.

Features: • Existing countertops replaced with granite countertops • Existing backsplash tile replaced with new modern version of subway type and accent tile work • New under-cabinet LED lighting and above-cabinet LED accent lighting • Existing recessed ceiling lights replaced with new globe type pendant lights The master bathroom remodel entailed the removal of the existing fiberglass shower unit and the existing floor tile.

The new shower is now a custom tiled shower using a linear type tile set vertically and a column from floor to ceiling of glass tile. The new bathroom floor area is now finished with a modern wood floor like tile. During renovation work, thermostatically controlled in-floor heating was installed beneath the shower stall and also under the entire floor area. The walls and ceilings were refreshed with new colors of paint. All the colors and textures were chosen to complement the existing whirlpool tile colors, existing vanity cabinets and countertop colors.

Solatube® Daylighting Systems The Natural Light Company invites you to visit the home of Craig and Jeanne Johnson. The Johnsons recently moved into this beautiful forty-two year old ranch style home and felt it would be the perfect time to redecorate with a natural light make-over.

After meeting with the Certified Daylighting Consultant, the Johnsons decided to have four Solatube® Daylighting Systems (SDS’s) installed, one in each of the bathrooms as well as the kitchen and the entryway.

Mrs. Johnson said her top priorities were the bathrooms. Like the majority of us, they normally leave the bathroom doors open while not in use. With the addition of the new SDS’s, healthy natural light is now free to spill into the hallway, making the house even more inviting. Also, there is no need to worry about lights being left on during the day.

The Solatube® that gets the most use is the one that was installed in the kitchen. A four-tube florescent light fixture was removed and replaced with a 14” daylighting system equipped with an optional light kit and the decorative TierDrop diffuser. The kitchen is now an even more inviting place to work and entertain guests while preparing a meal.

Of the four SDS’s installed, the one in the entry provided the most dramatic improvement. Not only does it illuminate the entry area, it also provides light for the coat closet as well as lighting the open staircase to the finished basement.

Each of the Solatube® Daylighting Systems were equipped with an “Integrated Solar Night Light” (ISNL). The ISNL’s work just like solar landscaping lights. Two AA batteries are charged during the day powering two LED lights which turn on automatically at sundown. These night lights provide a nice soft light allowing for safe navigation during the night without turning on bright overhead lights. With the addition of the ISNL the Solatube® Daylighting Systems qualify for a 30% federal tax credit.

We were able to bring this dark, outdated home back to life by adding gorgeous classic-modern finishes without ruining the integrity of an already well-built property. In the kitchen, we capitalized on storage and made the space feel much larger by adding additional lighting and white cabinetry. The owners wanted to optimize the existing space for entertaining and we were able to achieve that by installing an oversized island in this open-concept layout. The previous kitchen lacked storage space and had an awkward layout. By relocating a doorway and removing a coat closet and small walk-in pantry, we were able to redesign the space, giving them everything on their wish list without the added cost of an addition. Whole House Renovation This lovely two-story home in Pine Lake Heights, built in 1999, was the perfect home for Bryce and Heather to raise their family. And that’s just what they did for the last 17 years. But now, with the last child almost out the door, they were ready for a change. The whole house was struck in the nineties and not much had been changed on the inside since it was built. We were brought in by Becky Rea, owner of Fritz & Lloyd Interiors, with a mission to design and build a modern home perfectly suited for emptynesters who like to entertain.

Walls came down throughout the first floor to create an open floor plan. The kitchen was opened up and re-configured for easy entertaining. All three of the bathrooms were updated with high-end finishes and fixtures. All the builder-grade trim and doors were replaced with custom millwork. New hardwood was installed throughout the first floor; new carpet and tile was installed on the second floor. Every inch of the first and second floor was re-designed and updated.

Bryce and Heather have fallen back in love with their “new” home. Now bring on the parties!

Basement Bar Creative Design Solutions for your Home With new owners, this walkout basement needed to fit this golfing couple’s need for entertaining. The existing bar had more of a kitchenette feel and an enclosed office off the bar felt out of place. The wall and French doors to the office were removed which opened this space up for a Foosball table and fun wall decor they had collected over the years. The “kitchenette” was transformed into an eye-catching bar with Cherry display cabinetry, rustic wood wall tile, and raised bar seating! Carpet was replaced with 12” x 24” porcelain tile making the entrance from the golf course an easy transition into the bar and bathroom areas. Walking into this basement after a round of eighteen holes has never been better!

  Showplace Wood Products Cabinetry in Cherry wood with granite countertops were the perfect fit for the Man Cave basement bar!   Weathered barn wood tile covers the backsplash focal wall with TV for sports viewing.   An old built-in entertainment center was torn out, allowing for a bigger wall-hung TV, and new carpeting was added creating an inviting place to relax!
