Educational Psychology Team Service Description The purpose of the Team is to promote the all-round development of children and young people (including wellbeing, health, personality, talents and abilities, academic achievement) to their fullest potential through collaborative work with individuals, families, early-years settings, schools, colleges, educational managers, and other agencies. To achieve this we will: • Develop approaches to help prevent, minimize and seek to remove barriers which affect the healthy development of children and young people. • Provide a consistent professional service of the highest possible quality within Havering borough and local council areas in accordance with statutory responsibilities, professional ethics and council policies. • Work collaboratively with children and young people, parents/carers, early-years settings, schools, colleges, education managers and other relevant agencies in the best interests of children and young people. • Promote effective inter-agency working at all levels with the focus on the outcomes for children and young people. • Develop psychological services for 0 to 25 with the aim of improving the life chances of young adults with particular reference to the most vulnerable groups.
