Welcome to the first newsletter on the regeneration of the Family Welcome Centre, Harold Hill.

We will be keeping neighbouring residents living close to the site up to date on the scheme and have provided contact details below if you need to get in touch with us

Background

The Family Welcome Centre is part of the first phase of the Harold Hill Town Centre Regeneration Masterplan vision

Havering’s vision for the regeneration of Harold Hill Town Centre received Cabinet approval in spring 2021 and includes the redevelopment of the Farnham and Hilldene Estate, Chippenham Road and the current Abercrombie House hostel

The proposed welcome centre, designed by architects Hawkins\Brown, will include 74 self-contained dwellings in a variety of sizes.

A Health Centre on the ground and first floors, positioned along Hilldene Avenue, will also deliver accessible health services to the wider local community.

The new Family Welcome Centre will replace the borough’s existing hostels, including the current site of Abercrombie House and Will Perrin Court and will help to increase the support available for Havering’s most vulnerable residents

Upcoming works

M&M Demolition will be leading on the demolition and associated preparation works at the site and are fully committed to working with local business and residents to ensure our programme of work causes minimum inconvenience to all those impacted by our work.

Work will start on the site shortly, with a perimeter fence installed to help secure the site as well as establishing a site office and vehicle and pedestrian access

General information

The site working hours are Monday to Friday: 8am to 6pm, Saturday: 8am to 1pm These hours have been set by Havering Council.
