The gallery will be returning for the eighth year to the Bay Area’s premiere Contemporary Art fair alongside 85 leading international galleries. Industrial designer Gerard Furbershaw co-founded Lunar Design, where he spent 35 years. During that time, Lunar won over 300 design awards and had its work featured in more than 20 museum exhibitions, including the esteemed Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum. In 2014, the firm received the prestigious Cooper Hewitt National Design Award in recognition of its three-decade body of work.
While his time at Lunar was deeply rewarding, Gerard sought a more personal avenue for creative expression. This led him to establish Furbershaworks, a platform dedicated to creating art furniture. Although his focus has shifted to art, Gerard still relies on his industrial design technical skills. After conceptualizing his pieces, he creates digital models using computer-aided design (CAD). These models generate data that guides computer numerical control (CNC) machining, ensuring that each part of his pieces fit together precisely. Once the parts are machined, he meticulously sands, finishes, and assembles them, transforming raw materials into refined works of art.
Gerard describes himself as an amalgam of artist, designer, and craftsperson, referring to his work as “art you can sit on.”

The gallery will introduce paintings by artist Yool Kim, who is an emerging contemporary artist based in Seoul, South Korea, soft sculptures by Seattle artist, Erik Andor and the latest ‘Crystal Mary’ by Kyle Montgomery, known as Killdie.
Self taught, and in her third decade as an artist, Amy Spassov’s process has developed over the years through an exploration of different themes and mediums with a deep fascination and connection to the natural world. Spassov works in layers using numerous tools, paint and collage as a means to assemble then deduct what is relevant.
Erik Hall’s landscapes are representations of reality that have been filtered and augmented by his memory. As described by Hall, “The expanses in my work are an indication that something I have seen is present, is real and exists, even though it is being told as I remember it and not as it actually occurred.”
Amber Cowan's sculptural glasswork is based around the use of recycled, upcycled, and second-life American pressed glass. She uses the process of flameworking, hot-sculpting and glassblowing to create large-scale sculptures that overwhelm the viewer with ornate abstraction and viral accrual.

This spring, from Thursday, April 17 to Sunday, April 20, the San Francisco Art Fair returns to the Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture. Renowned for drawing large crowds, the fair celebrates modern and contemporary art through a showcase of exceptional galleries and thought-provoking programming.
For its 13th edition, the fair will feature over 85 leading galleries from the Bay Area and around the world. Attendees can look forward to first-time participants like Jessica Silverman, Anthony Meier, and Micki Meng, as well as returning favorites such as Catharine Clark Gallery, K. Imperial Fine Art, and Scott Richards Contemporary Art.
New this year is a dedicated section honoring East Bay galleries and artists, highlighting the region’s dynamic creative community. The fair will also feature Jewel Box, a special project presented by Creativity Explored, a San Francisco-based nonprofit that supports artists with developmental disabilities.
The festivities kick off on Thursday, April 17 with an Opening Night Preview from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., offering early access to exhibits for Fair Pass holders and VIPs. Throughout the weekend, the fair will also host public programs including artist talks, panels, and participatory installations. Among the highlights are a live performance by Marc Horowitz, hands-on block printing with the Museum of Craft and Design’s Mobile Make Art Van, and the collaborative mural project Echoes, celebrating the Bay Area’s underground art scene.
Tickets are available now online. Single-day admission starts at $35, while Fair Pass tickets start at $65 and include access to the Opening Night Preview and all public days of the fair.
