Sudbury’s annual Party in the Park on Sunday 23rd July will be opened by local group, Phoenix Suffolk Community Marchers. The band will perform a lively procession through Belle Vue Park, where the popular event is held. The free all day event, now in its ninth year, is run by the Town Council and aims to raise the profile of the diverse range of clubs and groups in and around the town by providing demonstrations, workshops and competitions. Thousands of people are expected to attend this year’s event, which will see displays from several local groups including martial arts, keep fit, exercise routines, and a children’s entertainer. Free to the public there will be there will be climbing walls, bungee trampolines, Punch & Judy and this year’s new attraction, Princess appearances with sing-a-long story time. Other activities on the day include; Face painting, Arts and crafts, stalls, rugby, bouncy castles, slides, inflatable gladiator games, a rodeo bull and Zorb football. There will be a fantastic range of sweet and savory food stalls, picnic hampers, and a beer tent to quench your thirst. Live music will be playing all day with The befriending Scheme running an acoustic music stage during the day then local singers and bands performing on the main stage from 5pm. This year’s event will take place on Sunday 23rd July, starting at 11am, finishing at 9pm with no admittance after 8pm.
