CORAL SPRINGS MUSEUM OF ART Stop by and spend the day or night exploring the newly refreshed Coral Springs Museum of Art. Located inside the Center for the Arts, in the heart of Coral Springs, the Museum is one of the most exciting cultural venues hosting a my r i a d o f a c t i v i t i e s throughout the year! The museum opened in 1997 with a mission to engage and connect our diverse communities with dynamic exhibits, exceptional art education, stimulating specialty programs and inspired events to ignite cultural e n r i c h m e nt . Th e c i t yr u n m u s e u m re c e n t l y expanded its programs and extended their hours to meet the needs and schedules of our community. 36
They have an 8,000 square foot contemporary gallery that changes exhibits about every eight weeks exhibiting contemporary works from artist near and far. The museum hosts classes and workshops for all ages, c a m p s , o u t re a c h , a n d events. They are growing and look forward to having you in the museum more and more this year! In late 2003, the Coral Springs City Commission passed an ordinance creating a new Public Art Program —to bring art out of the museum and into the co m m u n i t y, o n roadways, in front of buildings, parks,
city squares and in lobbies. Art is at the center of the new City Hall, with new featured artist installations every six months. A wide range of music also fills the air on the great lawn of City Hall – featuring music festivals l i ke B i t e s - n -S i p s a n d UnPlugged.
