Description of Functions

Arming/Disarming

When armed, the control unit notifies all encoded phone numbers, and the relay will be activated depending on the input setup. When disarmed, the alarm is passive. The control unit does not send any notifications, and the relay will be deactivated. However, there are exceptions (see point 4).

Digital Inputs

There are two optically isolated inputs that can control the relay and send SMS messages. It is possible to name the inputs and specify their states. For example, name "DOOR" and states "Open" or "Closed".

Thermostat

Allows for controlling a heat source or cooling. The thermostat function operates independently of whether the control unit is armed or disarmed. The control unit will notify if there is a fault with the temperature sensor.

Relay

The relay is potential-free, allowing it to be used as a closing function. Use NO & C for this purpose. It can also be used as a breaking function. Use NC & C for this.

TemperatureAlarm

When armed, the control unit can send SMS notifications for high or low temperatures. The control unit will also notify if there is a fault with the temperature sensor.

Power Failure Notification

The control unit notifies if there is a power failure. However, only the first two phone numbers are notified, and only when the control unit is armed.

Status Message Setup

The control unit can be set up to send a GSM OK message at daily intervals.

Call Function

The control unit automatically activates the relay when called, and as soon as a dial tone is detected, the relay is activated until the call is ended.

Email Function

The control unit can be set up to send an email on alarm or pulse measurement.

GT1000 as a water alarm

The control unit is suitable for use as a water alarm. The float switch should be connected as follows:

Connection of blue float switch contacts:

● Black wire (C) = IN1

● Blue wire (NC) = 12V+

Note that the colors of the wires may vary. The most important thing is that the signal should be high when the float switch is down. This way, if the control unit loses the signal from the float switch, it will notify accordingly.

Connection of floor water sensor cable:

● Red = 12V+

● Brown = 12V-

● Yellow (C) = VDD

● White (NC) = IN1

● Blue (NO): Not used

Configuration of the control unit (important):

Send an SMS with the following command: 123471 to the control unit. This will automatically set up the control unit to be a vandal alarm. When the float switch changes state, the relay will also activate for approximately 60 seconds. This could be used, for example, for a sound or light indicator.

The next step is to encode one or more phone numbers to which the control unit should send SMS notifications. Optionally, you can change the name of the device (See page 17, command 51).

GT1000 Electricity Meter

The control unit can be used as an electricity meter on one of the digital inputs, IN1 by connecting a KW-meter (available for purchase through GSM-teknik).

The KW-meter should ideally have a diagram somewhat similar to the image on the right.

Connect 20 from the diagram to GND on the GT1000.

Then connect 21 from the diagram to IN1 on the GT1000, with a 1KΩ resistor between IN1 and VDD.

The KW-meter is now connected and should ideally be connected as shown in the image to the right.

Now, set up the input via SMS with the command 12342212X, where X indicates how many pulses the KW-meter generates per kWh (this information can usually be found in the manual for the KW-meter, and in some cases, it may also be indicated on the side of the KW-meter). Values from 1 to 10,000 pulses per kWh can be specified.

Everything is now set up, and electricity consumption can be read using command 123480 for reading, or 123481 for reading with a reset of the counter.

The counter can count up to 999,999,999,999 kWh, and when this consumption is reached, the counter is reset, and an SMS with the electricity consumption is sent to all phone numbers registered on the device.

Note:Additionally, there is the option to receive information about electricity consumption via email. See Chapter 9 for email setup.

Email

GT1000 has implemented email functionality in the latest firmware. This function can only be used for status messages, meaning all messages that are not responses to a sent SMS, and for electricity consumption (however, this is responded to by an SMS).

Send 123490 to receive your firmware. If you have firmware dated 2019-05-13 or later, email is supported.

To set up email, send 123413 followed by your email address (maximum 30 characters).

Then send 123414X, where X indicates what you want to receive emails about. There are four different settings to choose from.

No emails (Set as default)

1. Email only for electricity meter (when sending an SMS with 123480/123481)

2. Status message (alarms (temperature + input 1 & 2), status messages (function 123461/62), and vandal alarm. Unfortunately, it is not possible to receive email notifications for power failure, as sending email requires a lot of power!)

3. Both of the above

The defaultAPN is set to "websp", but it can be changed by sending 123415 followed by the APN (maximum 13 characters).

Standard:TDC/TeliaAPN = internet

Standard: GreentelAPN = websp

Email should now be set up, and the setup can always be viewed by sending SMS 123412 to the device.

Testing the email can be done by sending SMS 123416, and the device will then send an email to the provided email address. If it cannot send the email, it will send an SMS back indicating that it cannot send the email, and you should therefore check theAPN and email address.

Connection with GT-130 VA-Alarm

The GT1000 can collaborate with our other analog vandal alarm, the GT-130 VA-Alarm.

If you want an audio indicator for the GT1000:

Here's how to connect the two control units:

● Connect a cable from GT-130 NC to GT-1000 12v+.

● Connect another cable from GT-130 C to GT-1000 IN2 (IN1 can also be used).

Error codes

1 Incorrect user code or incorrect command.

2 Correct command, but incorrect selected function.

Which SIM card should I use?

The SIM card should support 2G and should not have a PIN code. Why am I not receiving alarms via SMS?

If the LED on the GSM module (see page 6, LED3) blinks once every 2 seconds, the control unit is connected to the network. Check that the settings are correctly set up and that the control unit isARMED.

Poor SIM card signal (below 20%)?

If you experience the problem that the control unit cannot connect to the GSM network, it may be necessary to move the control unit, change the SIM card to another mobile operator, or purchase an external antenna to improve signal strength.

Why is my GSM control unit no longer sending SMS?

If your control unit is no longer sending SMS or making calls during an alarm, it may be because the SIM card has run out of credit. Check the balance on your prepaid card and top up if the balance is low or depleted.Another reason may be that the control unit has lost GSM coverage. Therefore, restart the control unit by removing the power plug.Turn on the control unit again. Now try sending an SMS to the control unit and check if it can receive and send SMS during an alarm.

How do I change my SIM card?

If the SIM card needs to be changed or removed, the GSM control unit must always be completely turned off, i.e., remove the power plug, and all LEDs must be off. This can take up to 20 minutes. Otherwise, there is a risk of damaging the control unit and/or SIM card, and this is NOTcovered by the warranty.

The control unit shows no temperature?

Check that the temperature sensor is correctly installed. Then restart the unit by pressing the SETbutton for 2 seconds.
