A note from our Girl Scout sister, Claydean McCallon
I grew up in Girl Scouts. I started as a Brownie and went through high school. During that time, I had wonderful leaders that nurtured me and presented opportunities I would never have done on my own. From attending day camp to earning my First Class (Gold Award), they showed me I could do anything and the
As an adult, I tried to take their leadership and pass it on to my own Girl Scout troop. Our troop went camping, traveled and experienced new adventures The experiences we shared were camping at Bear Creek Aquatic Camp learning about the outdoors, hiking, and of course, outdoor cooking. I watched them w in confidence and branch to try new things, such as ch oven cooking...their orite dishes were Mountain n and Apple Dumpling!
were able to travel and share w adventures. Can you agine taking a group to the zoo the first time or something as ple as eating at a restaurant y had not ever been to? One of highlights was going to the iette Low Birthplace and bee Island. It was the first time one of our Girl Scouts to see ocean. Girl Scouts also took ir first airplane ride when we k a trip to Minnesota Dream mboree with 2,600 other Girl uts.
My experiences and those of my troop would not have been possible without generous sponsors to our Girl Scout program.Without your generosity, there is a Girl Scout that would not get to experience new adventures, travel to new places, or realize that they can do anything and make the world a better place.

The first planned gift in the Girl Scout Movement came from our founder, Juliette Gordon Low. After converting the carriage house of her home into the first Girl Scout national headquarters, she gifted the property to Girl Scouts in her will. Become a member of the Juliette Gordon Low Society and carry on her legacy by making Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana a beneficiary of your estate plans.
