Using this Guide
This guide is filled with fun and challenging events designed to help girls earn badges, meet other Girl Scouts, and try new things. Together, it all creates the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
Events like these are offered by our program team, community partners, area associations, service units, and other troops. The online Events Calendar is your source for the most up-to-date information about something to do as a troop, with a friend, or as a family, plus volunteer trainings.
Find the latest Event Guide on our website, www.gskentuckiana.org/events. Check it often for updates.
Log in to MyGS to get started!

Our program offerings provide enriching experiences for girls.
Check out our event categories to find events that match a Girl Scout's specific interests.
Global Engagement Global
No matter their age, Girl Scouts can engage with global issues. Events marked blue indicate programs with global themes. For even more activities to do individually or as a troop, check out the global page of our website at www.gskentuckiana.org/global.
Family Engagement Family
The whole family can join in the fun! There are lots of ways families can be involved in Girl Scouts, and sometimes that means enjoying an outing together. These events are open for the whole gang to come along as their Girl Scout discovers the world. Everyone shares the fun when a family sees an event through a Girl Scout's eyes! Family events show the various costs for Girl Scouts, adults, and tagalongs. Tagalongs are siblings or friends (both boys and girls) who join an event or program, accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Registering for Events
Log in to MyGS at mygs.girlscouts.org/myaccount for the most up-to-date information on events and for registration. Pre-registration is required at least two weeks ahead of time. Register for events online with a credit/debit card, or contact Customer Care for assistance. Late registrations cannot be accepted. When your plans change, event registrations may be canceled for a full refund, up to 14 days prior to the event.
Patch of the Month
Each month, girls can Discover, Connect, and Take Action in a specific subject area. Hands-on activities are available for all Girl Scout levels and can be done at meetings, as a pre-meeting activity, or as an athome project.
Completing patch programs may satisfy requirements for certain badges. It’s not necessary to complete the patch programs in the months specified—they can be completed at any time.
Find the Patch of the Month packets at: www.gskentuckiana.org/patchofthemonth.

February

March
Black History Month: Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements and contributions of the African American and Black communities—a time (though not the only time!) for emphasizing the central role of this varied community throughout U.S. history.
Girl Scout Tree Promise: All over the world, deforestation and climate change are damaging the planet. Trees help cool communities, provide habitat for wildlife, create shade on hot summer days, clean water, and remove asthma-causing air pollution. Join Girl Scouts to make the world a better place as we plant, protect, and honor trees with the Girl Scout Tree Promise.

September

Every year, on the second weekend of September, you can participate in self-guided tours, family hikes, watersports, stargazing, and more, all while fostering a clean environment for everyone to enjoy with Pick Up America.

October

Hispanic Heritage Month: Celebrated in September and October each year, Hispanic Heritage Month honors all people in the United States whose ancestors come from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and South America.
November Media Stars: Step into the spotlight and become media makers! Learn the ins and outs of storytelling, internet safety, and media content creation while sharing your voice with the world.

December Cookie Boss: Learn about entrepreneurship and starting your own business as you prepare to kick off Girl Scout Cookie season! Develop business skills, make amazing memories, and embody what it means to be a Cookie Boss.

January

April

May
Pinwheels for Prevention: Prevent Child Abuse in Kentucky and Indiana share a mission to prevent the abuse and neglect of children. This program gives Girl Scouts the opportunity to share public awareness through the planting of pinwheels, the national symbol for Prevent Child Abuse.
Mental Health Awareness: Becoming a Girl Scout means tapping into a supportive group of people who uplift you every step of the way. When it comes to caring for your mental wellness, the Girl Scouts Mental Wellness patch program reminds you that you’re never alone in facing challenges and further invites you to dive into and understand your emotions. By completing this Patch of the Month you will receive your grade level's Mental Wellness patch.

Learning by Earning
Girl Scouts can learn business skills while they help support their troop and ALL Girl Scouts in Kentuckiana when they participate in the Fall Product and Cookie Programs!
The theme for the 2026 Product Programs is Brave, Fierce, Fun! The Fall Product Program mascot is the majestic grizzly bear, and the Cookie Program mascot is the adorable, endangered black-footed ferret. Both animals will be featured in the patches and rewards all Girl Scouts can earn.
Detailed information on how to participate will be sent by email to troop volunteers and families ahead of the product programs. All Girl Scouts are encouraged to participate to help "fund the fun"!
Fall Product Program
September—November
Participating in the Fall Product Program is a great way to earn start-up funds for uniforms and amazing experiences for your troop!
Girl Scouts sell nuts, candy, magazines, and more through a simple digital platform. Troops earn 20-25% of the proceeds from the program. Girl Scouts also earn awesome individual rewards and learn valuable entrepreneurial skills. This program is straightforward for online participation and includes lots of great interactive features for girls like creating their own custom-designed avatar.
Find out more at www.gskentuckiana.org/fall.
Cookie Program
January—March
By selling cookies, a Girl Scout is part of the largest girl-led business in the world!
The Girl Scout Cookie Program is a tradition that troops, Girl Scouts, and families can all enjoy. Troops earn a portion of all sales, and Girl Scouts have the opportunity to set goals and earn exciting themed individual and troop rewards. There are lots of ways to participate, from inperson pre-orders, to cookie booths and running their own online cookie store. Girl Scouts can also earn badges to show off their entrepreneurial skills as they grow with the program.
And stay tuned, a brand-new Girl Scout Cookie will debut with this year's program!
Find out more at www.gskentuckiana.org/ cookieresources.
Training Highlights for Adults
Adult volunteers are the driving force behind the thriving, fearless energy of Girl Scouts. Well-informed leaders serve as the bedrock for the success of troops.
Training is always available.
Sometimes it can come from a workshop led by volunteers or staff. Or it might look like an online, self-paced course. Or it may be a handson experience in the great outdoors.
Training volunteers is important to our mission of creating a great experience for every Girl Scout.
Whether they are a new volunteer in their first year or a well-established guru, adults can find the learning they need to power the fun for Girl Scouts.

Visit the GSK website at www.
Some trainings may require prerequisites or carry a fee.
