Impact & Updates for Supporters

A note from our Girl Scout staff, Brian Leinenbach

From a very young age, I’ve always been drawn to the woods. Whether I was exploring nature trails, building tree houses, or working as a camp counselor, I took every opportunity I could to be outside. I now have the privilege of working for the properties team as the Ranger/Site Manager of Camp Shantituck.

Over the years and through many places traveled, I’ve made a habit of capturing my avorite trees in photos little napshots of the moments nd memories that nature has iven me.

’ve been with Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana for four years now, and I’ve had the privilege of visiting, working n, and enjoying each of our ouncil’s camp properties Every camp offers something unique, yet they all share the same purpose: providing a place where Girl Scouts can experience nature, connect with one another, and be fully themselves. These are spaces where girls build skills that stay with them for life.

For me, every shingle added to a roof, every fallen tree cleared, every pipe fixed, and every picnic table repaired is a way of supporting that experience.

I take great pride in helping create safe, welcoming places for troops, volunteers, and Girl Scouts to explore and enjoy the outdoors.

Why I give to and work for GSK is simple: I know that what the Rangers and I do helps create meaningful moments in nature for everyone who visits. I encourage you to find your own favorite tree And if you’re ever at Camp Shantituck, I’d love to show you mine. Happy Holidays!

Girl Scouts Give Patch Program

We believe Girl Scouting is for every girl, regardless of their circumstances or their family’s financial situation. The purpose of the Girl Scouts Give patch program is to help you understand the importance of supporting your Girl Scout sisters through investments of your time, talent, and treasure

Girl Scouts learn:

Ways to be a philanthropist

How to be a sister to every Girl Scout

Why donating to Girl Scouts is important

How to use things you’re doing every day to create good in their community

The Girl Scouts Give patch program is open to all Girl Scout grade levels Daisy through Ambassador.

The first planned gift in the Girl Scout Movement came from our founder, Juliette Gordon Low After converting the carriage house of her home into the first Girl Scout national headquarters, she gifted the property to Girl Scouts in her will. Become a member of the Juliette Gordon Low Society and carry on her legacy by making Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana a beneficiary of your estate plans.

Giving Tuesday showed just how deeply our community believes in the power of camp.

Because of your generosity, we raised a grand total of $29,334.95, including $10,776.42 in recurring gifts that will continue to support camp.

We are especially grateful to GSK volunteer, Marty Woelfel, whose generosity made matching funds up to $6,000 possible, helping stretch the impact of monthly gifts even further. Thank you, Marty, for being such a powerful champion for our camps and our Girl Scouts.

And while Giving Tuesday may have passed, the need (and the opportunity to give) continues. Our Friends of Camp campaign is still open, and every gift helps keep our camp properties strong, safe, and ready for the Girl Scouts who will grow, explore, and find their confidence there.

If you haven’t had a chance to give yet, there’s still time to join us as a Friend of Camp. Your one-time or recurring gift makes a lasting difference: bit.ly/gskcampfriends

Thank you for believing in girls, in camp, and in what’s possible when our community comes together.
