Davide Traxler. Ad di Chopard Italia Managing director of Chopard Italy Come è il bilancio dei suoi primi tre anni a Firenze? Assolutamente positivo. Firenze è una città dinamica, ha un ottimo livello di qualità della vita. E, oltretutto, in questi mesi si sta respirando aria positiva. C’è un fermento nuovo che fino a qualche tempo fa non si sentiva. Ci sono grande voglia di fare, spirito propositivo, volontà di uscire da una normalità ripetitiva che l’ha caratterizzata forse per troppo tempo. Tutto questo fa bene alla città, la rende viva e la fa guardare avanti con rinnovato ottimismo. La sua famiglia come si è inserita a Firenze? Molto bene. La città è ricca di realtà di alto livello, sempre pronta ad accogliere e a offrire, in tanti settori, qualità riconosciute a livello internazionale. Penso alla scuola francese, presenza fondamentale nell’ambito della formazione a Firenze. Ma anche alla Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, autorevole ed apprezzata a livello mondiale, culla di tanti eccelsi musicisti e in grado, ancora oggi, di rappresentare un punto di riferimento per chi intende mettere la musica tra gli elementi importanti della propria vita. La Scuola di Musica di Fiesole è una vera eccellenza della quale Firenze può e deve andare fiera. Quali sono le passioni che caratterizzano la sua vita? Corro il rischio di essere monotono, ma non certo quello di dire cose false. Al primo posto ci sono famiglia e lavoro. Tutto per me ruota intorno a queste due fondamenta. Qual è la migliore decisione che ha preso nella sua vita? Quella di sposare mia moglie.
Figlio di un diplomatico, Davide Traxler è nato a New York nel 1968. Sposato, tre figli, dal 2007 è Amministratore Delegato di Chopard Italia. Divide la sua vita tra Firenze e Ginevra. He divides his time between Florence and Geneva.

How do your first three years in Florence measure up as an experience? It’s been absolutely positive. Florence is a dynamic city and it has an excellent level when it comes to quality of life. And on top of that, in these past months, there’s a really positive air about the city. Like a stirring sense of awakening that hadn’t been felt in a while. There’s a lot of will to get things done, a purposeful spirit and the desire to make a break from the repetitive routine that characterized Florence for too long. All of these things are good for the city, they make it come alive and encourage us look ahead with renewed optimism. How has your family adjusted to Florence? Very well. The city is brimming with high level realities and, in many sectors, it consistently offers the kind of quality that’s recognized on an international level. I think about the French school, which is a fundamental presence for education in Florence. But the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole also comes to mind; it’s preeminent and appreciated worldwide as the cradle of many first-rate musicians that, today, continue to be a point of reference for those who intend to make music one of the most important elements of their lives. The Scuola di Musica di Fiesole is a true source of excellence, of which Florence can and should be proud. Which passions characterize your life? I risk sounding monotonous, but, certainly, I can’t be accused of saying things that are untrue. Family and work come first. For me, everything centers on these two foundations. What’s the best decision you’ve made in your life? The decision to marry my wife.
