I am reminded as we have gotten to know our GTLC kids this month, that the qualities

God gave His children are so amaz-

ing! Here are a few that I have come across…

• • • • • • • • •

A child is innocent. A child is trusting. A child believes without complication. A child has not had time to allow the preconceived notions of the world to form his decision-making process. A child receives with joy, forgetting herself with light-hearted abandonment. A child is humble. A child is content in the little things. A child has the faith to move mountains. A child is awed by majestic splendor. A child takes to heart God’s Word in all its simplicity.

Oh to be a child again…wait… WE ARE…no matter the age we will always be His children! AMEN!

Hello Church! We hope you have been enjoying the Mission Moment given by the Pastors. We are hoping to highlight all the different Missions that are going on around the church. These may be Missions that occur once a week, once a month, or even once a year. Thank you for your generous response to Steve’s Pantry. At least 8 new volunteers signed up to be trained. At our September meeting we voted to contribute $5,000 toward a Living Water well. We are hoping that a group of volunteers will travel to El Salvador in 2019, but final plans have not been made. Stay tuned for more information and dates.

If you have ideas to share with your Missions Team, join us the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30pm in Steve’s Pantry or contact Pastor Aaron at aaron@grueneumc.org or Sarah Krull at srkrull4@gmail.com. We’d love to hear from you.

OCTOBER 14th-20th Have you been looking for a way for you and your family to get involved with GUMC? Family Promise may be the answer! The mission of Family Promise of Greater New Braunfels is to support, guide, and lift families out of homelessness and into safe housing, gainful employment, and independence. Local churches (including GUMC!) host these families a few times a year for a week. We provide beds, showers, and meals while these families get back on their feet. Ways to get involved include helping with set-up/tear-down, bringing a meal, or helping to stock the fridge for the week that they are here. The next week that GUMC will host is October 14th - 20th. If you would like to help (or get on the Family Promise email list for later dates that we host), please send an email to gumcfamilypromise@gmail.com, or call/

text Kristi Morris at 719-310-2292.

Gruene UMC Annual Church Conference Sunday, November 11th 5 p.m. Please come join us at Gruene UMC Annual Church Conference. All are welcome and child care will be available. What is a Church Conference? It’s a time for you to come and hear about all that goes on at Gruene UMC. We celebrate ministries; we set goals for the following year; we nominate new leaders; we discuss financial information; we pray for new ministries; we vote on clergy salaries; we “show off” a little for our District Superintendent. Finally, we will praise God for all that God has done, is doing and will do through Gruene UMC. Please come and listen. Come and hear / know / pray / dream where God might be leading Gruene in 2019.
