Confirmation 2019 is upon us! Our first class is Jan. 16th at 6:30pm in our Mission and Outreach building where we will have an orientation/introduction and some snacks. The class is for 6th-12th grade who have not gone through confirmation and would like to attend to be confirmed by Gruene UMC. 5K Sponsors Needed! We are looking for both Corporate Sponsors and Family Sponsors for our 5K. This years race is February 23rd 2019 and the last chance to get your sponsorship in to be on all the shirts and signs is January 15th! TUESDAY MORNING LADIES’ BOOK/BIBLE STUDY Starts January 29th! The Tuesday Morning Ladies Book/Bible Study will start Tuesday, January 29th at 9:45 a.m. There will be 7 sessions. Please join us for a study of Rick Warren’s book, What On Earth Am I Here For. You may know it by its original name ¨The Purpose Driven Life. The book can be purchased from Amazon or cristianbook.com There is a study guide, but it is not necessary. Happy New Year! Before we ring in the new, we would like to share some of the old. You funded the Missions Team last year, and these are some of the ways we used your money. First, we funded missions based right here in our church. At Steve’s Pantry, they began the year serving 266 people in a month. In November, they served 804 clients! Your generosity provided food, clothes, showers, and (most importantly) created relationships. Food For Kids (formerly Backpacks) served on average 181 children per week during the 2017/2018 school year. This school year we added 2 more schools, and we are already serving 254 children per week. Church By the River (CBR) continues to meet the last Saturday of the month under the I-35 bridge. Besides a wonderful church service with communion; food, clothes and friendship are provided. Please feel welcome to serve in any of these missions. Second, we supported several different organizations in New Braunfels; SOS food pantry, River City Advocacy, Child Advocacy Center of Comal County, Connections, Kids’ Club, Any Baby Can, Crisis Center of Comal County. In a slightly broader area we helped Home In A Week, TX State United Christian Ministry, and Nine Line Foundation. We want you to know where your contributions are making a difference. We are grateful for your generosity and work hard to be good stewards of your gifts. Looking forward to another exceptional year!
