God And ME Time! Children’s Small Groups Starting June 2nd at 9:30 and 11:00 Services This summer, on Sunday mornings, we are using fun board games to teach children lessons from the bible! This new summer small group programing will take place in K-5th Children's Small Groups during the 9:30 and 11:00* services. FAITH LESSONS - EXPERIENCE A MODERN-DAY "REVIVAL" Beginning Sunday June 9th Faith Lessons will begin a six-week video journey to England, though John Wesley's land, life ministry and teachings. Wesley's story is our story, defining our faith and challenging us to rediscover our spiritual passion. Our Faith Lessons Groups meets at 9:15 am in Room 301. Rev. Debbie Head Associate Pastor Gruene United Methodist Church We are excited to announce that Pastor Debbie Head will be our full time Associate Pastor beginning July 1st. Debbie has been with us in a part time Associate Pastor role and has been bringing and sharing the good news of God's love each Sunday in so many ways, especially at the 11: 00 a.m. service at the Mission and Outreach building. Debbie is a wonderful blessing here at Gruene UMC and will continue to be. We also want to congratulate her for graduating from Seminary this past week!
FATHER’S DAY Flip Flops & Flapjacks ! June 16th All Services! Come and invite all the amazing men of God you know to join us for our annual Flip Flops & Flapjacks on Father’s day, June 16th during all worship services. All Mission & Outreach worship services will be in the main building as we come together to eat pancakes, worship, and be thankful for all the men who have loved us well… fathers or not! And gals…we will need some help cooking and serving!
Chéri Heldstab Pastor of Children & Family Ministries
We are excited to introduce Chéri Heldstab as our Pastor of Children & Family Ministries at Gruene UMC. Chéri has a heart and passion for children and families both personally and professionally knowing that our families are our first church and our foundation. She loves to share the Good News in creative and meaningful ways that allow for all generations to grow in relationship with both God and with one another and come together as one body of Christ. Chéri has a BS in Special Education, is a commissioned Parish Christian Educator, has completed the Two Year Academy of Spiritual Formation, and is a certified candidate pursuing ordination as a Deacon in the United Methodist Church. She has been working in Children’s & Family ministry for over 20 years in United Methodist churches in both Texas and Missouri including at Buda UMC, The Journey UMC, and Dripping Springs UMC. Personally, Chéri has been married to Curtis for 22 years and is mom to three college -aged children, Alex (West Point- USMA), Mackenzie (Texas A&M Galveston), and Katy (Adams State University). Chéri and her family love to spend time together especially traveling, enjoying God's creation, & doing high adventure activities. When inside, Chéri loves reading, playing board games, and being creative in lots of different ways. Chéri feels her ministry to children and families can be summed up best by Jesus' words in the Gospels that reference Deuteronomy 6:4 -9 as we are called to know & love God with all of our mind, body, soul, and strength, to love others as ourselves every day, and to teach our children about loving the Lord from waking to sleeping and on the road and at home in every part of our lives.
