Bringing joy to others is a form of service — so play is a child’s most natural act of service and kindness towards others. “ Author Unknown

I love this quote so much! Why you ask? Because at GTLC we love to encourage children to play…and to play with each other. I love the thought of it being such a natural act of service…even when they are this little.

I grow plants for many reasons: to please my soul, to challenge the elements or to challenge my patience, for novelty, or for nostalgia, but mostly for the joy in seeing them grow.

Hello Church! We hope you have been enjoying the Mission Moment given by the Pastors. We are hoping to highlight all the different Missions that are going on around the church. These may be Missions that occur once a week, once a month, or even once a year. Thank you for your generous response to The Care Team. At least 14 new volunteers signed up. Thank you to the volunteers that turned out for Church By The River and then on to Be The Church. Working with some congregants from Casa Hermosa, we were able to complete some projects both inside and outside their building. We then shared a meal together. We look forward to growing in our relationship with them.

At our October meeting we voted to contribute $1500 to Any Baby Can. As the result of a donation match challenge, our gift will be doubled. Any Baby Can provides services to families who have a child or youth with a chronic illness, disability, developmental delay or health risk. Check out their website at www.anybabycansa.org. If you have ideas to share with your Missions Team, join us the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30pm in Steve’s Pantry or contact Pastor Aaron at aaron@grueneumc.org or Sarah Krull at srkrull4@gmail.com. We’d love to hear from you.

Gruene UMC Annual Church Conference Sunday, November 11th 5 p.m. Please come join us at Gruene UMC Annual Church Conference. All are welcome and child care will be available. What is a Church Conference? It’s a time for you to come and hear about all that goes on at Gruene UMC. We celebrate ministries; we set goals for the following year; we nominate new leaders; we discuss financial information; we pray for new ministries; we vote on clergy salaries; we “show off” a little for our District Superintendent. Finally, we will praise God for all that God has done, is doing and will do through Gruene UMC. Please come and listen. Come and hear / know / pray / dream where God might be leading Gruene in 2019.
