The Club

Recognized among the finest clubs in the Carolinas, Greensboro Country Club distinguishes itself as a full-service, member-owned private country club. GCC’s 1200 member-families enjoy a comprehensive club experience anchored by an exceptional golf program, uniquely presented across two distinct campuses.
The club in Irving Park was officially founded in 1909, making it one of the oldest country clubs in the state of North Carolina.
Greensboro Country Club’s second location, Carlson Dairy Farms, a former dairy farm turned children’s camp in 1957, is a stone’s throw away from the club in Irving Park. The two merged into one in 1969, and today it is aptly named “The Farm.”
Greensboro Country Club’s remarkable journey from being recognized as a Platinum Club of America, receiving the Distinguished Club Exceptional award from BoardRoom magazine, to being hailed as one of the best golf courses in North Carolina by Golf Digest is a testament to its unwavering pursuit of excellence.
Since 1921, Greensboro Country Club has stood as a proud host and partner of the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA), fostering a legacy of championship golf that spans generations. Hosting the Carolinas PGA (CPGA) Open and the Senior Open are distinguished traditions at Greensboro Country Club.

The Courses
Purchased by Greensboro Country Club in 1969, The Farm course was originally designed by Ellis Maples in 1963 and then renovated extensively in 2009 by Donald Steele. GCC members play more than 25,000 rounds at The Farm annually, and an extensive instructional program utilizes the impressive practice facilities and Teaching Pavillion building. Recognized as a Golf Digest Best-in-State course, The Farm course stretches to 7,400 yards and is utilized as a regular host of CGA and CPGA championships, including the North Carolina Amateur, North Carolina Open and the Carolinas Open.
The Farm is complimented by the in-town Irving Park Course, which winds charmingly through the neighborhood where many of our members reside. Designed by Donald Ross in the mid-1920s, the Irving Park Course hosts approximately 22,000 rounds annually. Given the park-like nature of the golf course and its proximity to many members’ homes, Irving Park is often the busiest in the evenings as our members try to sneak in a few holes after work.

Amenities & Facilities
Beyond its renowned golf offerings, Greensboro Country Club cultivates a vibrant community through a full spectrum of family-oriented amenities. These include multiple dining outlets, expansive swimming facilities, an active racquet sports program, and a brand-new fitness facility. A significant emphasis is placed on nurturing the next generation, exemplified by the club’s robust junior programming. These programs provide comprehensive instruction and opportunities for young athletes to develop their skills and passion for golf and other sports. GCC made a commitment to the future by extensively renovating the Irving Park facilities with a capital investment of more than $20 million, making the club’s facilities among the finest in the southeast.

The Director of Golf
Tyler Gosselin, PGA, is the Director of Golf at Greensboro Country Club, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the prestigious North Carolina club. His career is characterized by a dedication to enhancing the golfing experience for members and a proven track record of effective leadership to help those on his team learn and grow in their roles. In 2023, Tyler was recognized as the Carolinas PGA’s Merchandiser of the Year.
Prior to his role at Greensboro Country Club, which he assumed in May 2021, Tyler served as the Head PGA Professional at Scarsdale Golf Club in New York. There, he managed all facets of golf operations, including programming, member relations, team leadership, and he owned and operated the retail golf shop.
Before his time as a Head Professional, Tyler grew as an assistant professional at The Country Club in Brookline, MA, and has modeled his own leadership style after what he learned from the famed Director of Golf at TCC, Brendan Walsh. While at The Country Club, Tyler was recognized as the 2017 New England PGA’s Assistant Professional of the Year.
Tyler’s team members at Greensboro Country Club have gone on to positions at many of the top clubs across the country: Royal Palm Yacht & CC (Davis Agnew, Director of Golf), The CC of Sapphire Valley (Adam Singer, Head Professional), Congressional Country Club (Lane Blalock, Assistant Professional) and Internships at East Lake GC, Scioto CC, Sleepy Hollow CC, Gozzer Ranch, Monterey Peninsula CC, and The Masters.
Tyler’s journey in the golf industry began with a strong educational foundation, graduating from Clemson University’s PGA Golf Management program in 2011. He has a lifelong foundation of service & hospitality after a childhood of welcoming thousands of guests a year to the family-owned Vermont Bed & Breakfast that his parents owned and operated for more than 20 years.
What They Are Saying
Greensboro Country Club offers an incredibly well-rounded experience that I used to springboard my career into the Director of Golf position at Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club. During my seven years at GCC, I was directly involved with a bustling tournament operations program, led one of the most successful Instructional Academies in the country alongside our award-winning Director of Instruction, managed a golf shop with annual sales over $1,000,000 with the 2023 CPGA Merchandiser of the Year in Tyler Gosselin, and was able to hire, train, and manage an entire team at our Irving Park campus.
Greensboro Country Club checked every box that I needed to help me reach the next step in my career. Along with offering the most well-rounded experience I could have asked for, I was given the freedom to bring fun, new ideas to improve the overall member experience. By the time I sat in front of the search committee at Royal Palm, I was armed with stories and examples of things I did (i.e., creating a 350-player darts league in the winter or running the Junior Club Championship week) that set me apart from the rest of the candidates with similar resumes.
I’m confident that without my time at GCC, I would not have had the same success in my career. Between two totally different campuses, an abundance of technology to keep up with latest trends, a team of like-minded individuals, and the full support of Tyler and the membership for career advancement, I can think of no better place to learn and grow as a Golf Professional.
Davis Agnew, PGA

Irving Park Head Professional 2018-2024

I am extremely thankful for my time at GCC. I have had the opportunity to be exposed to every facet of a golf operation from merchandising and tournament operations, all the way to logistics and talent management. Tyler and the entire team at GCC foster an environment of learning and wanting to get better each day. I have become a well-rounded professional ready to take the next step and feel confident that I can handle all situations I may encounter. With the scale of the operation at Greensboro, I feel like it has allowed me to gain a big picture perspective of an operation that I would have been unable to achieve at other facilities. I can honestly say that I am a much better professional walking out of Greensboro than I was walking in.

Greensboro Country Club was an extremely formative experience for me in professional and personal development. Tyler and the team at GCC create a family-team environment that makes every day enjoyable. I experienced a hands-on approach to every single aspect of a world-class golf operation at a top platinum private club daily; the membership is very supportive of the golf team, and encouraged us to grow and prepare for our next opportunity in the business. I came to GCC with no experience in golf, and after four years, I left fully equipped and capable to find success in the golf business and jump-start my path toward becoming a Director of Golf.

Tyler has been an incredible mentor, leader, and communicator throughout my time working at Greensboro Country Club. The guidance from the team has played a crucial role in my professional growth, particularly in the golf industry. The Club has provided me with opportunities to run member events and merchandise in the golf shop, allowing me to learn through both successes and failures. This hands-on experience has been invaluable in helping me develop essential skills and gain a deeper understanding of the expectations and daily operations within golf management.
Beyond that, Tyler has gone above and beyond to support my career development, assisting me in securing two different PGM internships at top-tier clubs. His ability to communicate effectively and provide constructive feedback has been instrumental in shaping my confidence and leadership abilities. He creates an environment where learning and growth are encouraged, and his mentorship has set me on the right path for my future as a golf professional. I am incredibly grateful for the support of the whole team at GCC and the opportunities my time here has given me.
