My art is a unique style of the ancient Japanese art form Chigirie, using small torn pieces of paper to create beautiful images of animals and places. This year’s tour unveiling is a collection focused on the uniqueness of the Gorge, from its wildlife to its iconic places of business. See downtown Hood River created in gloriously textured torn paper! We hope you’ll visit our two-artist studio, shared with artist Max Panzer. We look forward to welcoming you to our creative space.

With a lifetime obsession with optical illusion, I find something particularly enticing about creating things that make you question what you see. My work is a combination of digital painting and contemporary interpolation, a process in which I take my painting and configure a sorting algorithm to interpret color, shading and depth, converting them into arrays of lines that intermingle and travel the same direction bringing a sense of unity to the chaotic cacophony of contours and colors.

Nature is my muse. My art work is visceral and demanding. Colors and textures found in nature speak and endless language which connects the physical and metaphysical. With these concepts in mind, my glass art infuses color and texture to represent the Eternal Wheel in a snapshot of glass frozen. Truly, my studio is all I see around me.

In an effort to update my personal jewelry six years ago, I educated myself in wire-working and beading techniques. This is an on-going experience and I’m constantly exploring new techniques, designs and additional materials to incorporate into my work. Jewelry is the latest iteration in a lifelong love affair with all things crafty. I’m also available for custom work
