I create prints on a printing press experimenting with monoprint, collagraph, woodcut, etching, and lithographs. Vivid in color, and rich in story, my work conveys a sense of wonder at our magical world. See new images inspired by Oaxaca, Mexico.

Rodney Stuart
2860 Hazel Avenue, Hood River, OR mixed media
My studio is full of collections of masks, heads, toys and boxes of recycled wood. Heads and portraits are one of my favorite subjects from different cultures. I am inspired by mannerism and gesture in all things living and like to develop story line in bird houses, mobiles and works on paper. I identify more with folk and funk art points of view, which demonstrates the artists personalities and experiences. I also try to place an importance on play, humor and simplicity!

Working with clay is my winter occupation. Summers are for the garden and for hatching ideas that may happen in my studio. I use an extra bedroom for a studio and have a kiln in the garage. My most used tool is a rolling pin. I can build almost any thing with clay, and I use flowers or leaves for patterns or molds. I will be working on faces with leaves for garden decoration. Inspirational bird houses and sculptural tea pots, too!

Kathryn Watne

As an art major at the University of Washinton in Seattle, I had the opportunity to take an enamel class and fell in love with it. Watching a powder turn to shiny glass was magical. I have been continuing my education in the medium taking classes and incorporating gemstones and silver in my work.
