We spoke to Gareth Jenkins, Specialist in Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics Implant Surgeon on why he believes that the practice can boast this impressive title.
I lecture both nationally and internationally, and I was honoured in Washington DC at an international conference for my contribution to aesthetic dentistry.

What are your qualifications Gareth? BDS (Wales); MScD (Wales); FDS, RCS (ED). I am a specialist in Restorative Dentistry and a Prosthodontics Implant Surgeon. After qualifying in 1970 at Cardiff Dental School and obtaining a Fellowship in Dental surgery in Edinburgh, I opened The Parade Specialist Dental Centre in 1975, while continuing to teach on a part-time basis at The Dental School, where I obtained my Master of Dental Science. I have over thirty five years experience in advanced restorative treatments, such as implants and precision attachments and, during my career, have placed over 6,000 dental implants.
What do you believe makes The Parade stand out from the crowd? Without doubt, it has to be the quality of dentistry we can offer. We are the only fully private; multi-specialist practice in Wales, where we have four GDC registered accredited Specialists in Restorative Dentistry, Prosthodontics, Periodontics, Endodontics and Orthodontics.
How can one become a patient? We accept general dentists’ referrals and welcome new patients to our practice. Our practice is truly unique and one that can offer the complete range of dental treatments for the whole family.
I am a past President of The British Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry and of the Association of Dental Implantology as well as being a Fellow and Diplomat of The International Congress of Implantology. I am also a past Chairman of the south Wales and south west of England Private Practitioners Group. I’ve written many published articles and a book on Advanced Restorative Dentistry.
We continually invest in technology and our staff. We have up-to-date digital x-rays, a CT scanner which allows us to have highly detailed 3D images of bone and supporting tissues for perfect diagnosis and careful surgical planning and an endodontic microscope. Our hygienist services are second to none thanks to latest Periowave technology. Does all of this expertise and technology mean high prices?
