Guitar Ensemble - by invitation only

With the guitar being a non-orchestral instrument, this ensemble is an invaluable chance for the girls to experience what it’s like to play music with others. Through playing together, the guitarists will develop their performance skills, their all-round musicianship skills, and enhance their appreciation of music above and beyond what happens in the individual weekly lesson. The ensemble play all styles and genres of music from classical to rock and pop, from musicals to Baroque! Ensemble members quickly build their confidence, become part of a tight-knit supportive team, they make new friends and perform at school concerts throughout the year. Girls are invited to join Guitar Ensemble upon completion of their Beginner book.

Orchestra

Lower School girls are invited to join the Orchestra if they learn an instrument at a Grade 4/5 standard. During weekly rehearsals, we will learn the importance of playing in an ensemble, working as a team and following the conductor as well as making new friends. Together we will practise 2 pieces of music each term, including works by composers such as Beethoven, Holst and Elgar. Once a year, we take part in an orchestral side by side experience with Queen Anne's School Orchestra.

Windband - by invitation only

Windband welcomes any students, learning in or out of school on wind, brass or percussion instruments, keen to take part in ensemble music around grade 2 and above, on recommendation and support of their instrumental teacher. The group offers a fun and dynamic foundation in ensemble skills prior to school orchestra, playing original and popular/familiar music for everyones enjoyment.
