Performing Arts
Ballet*
Ballet classes are a well-established part of Godstowe's extracurricular timetable. Pupils are offered classes in Nursery, Lodge and Main School. Pupils follow the Royal Academy of Dancing syllabus and are prepared for presentation assessments and examinations where appropriate. Classes are fun and engaging, they take place on either a Monday or Thursday, with specific grades and levels being taught at different times.
Modern Dance/Jazz*
ISTD Modern Theatre dance classes are a fun and energetic style of dance, which improves flexibility, strength and coordination. There is particular focus on performance and confidence. Pupils follow the Imperial Society Teachers of Dancing syllabus and are prepared for presentation assessments and examinations where appropriate. Classes are independently taught by Mrs Romy Hodges and her team.
Flute Ensemble - by invitation only
For flautists of Grade 1 standard and above, playing in this popular ensemble will develop confidence in sight reading, performance and listening skills. The girls enjoy rehearsing weekly and showcasing their delightfully blended sound in school concerts and other school events such as the Christmas Fair.
Beginner Music Theory*
Beginner Music Theory aims to develop and enhance the foundation knowledge and understanding of general musical literacy begun with the students' instrumental teachers. The small classes, limited to eight students, cater for beginners to Grade 4, with mock tests and assessments reflecting the expectations for the real theory exams.
