HOA News from the

CONTRACTORS The festive season is upon us and as a board we want to make sure all residents are aware of measures implemented and arrangements made during this time. The board would appreciate that all residents take note of the following: BOARDWALK MANOR ESTATE OFFICE:

SECURITY

The Office will be closed from 21 December 2020 to 4 January 2021. In case of an emergency the management can be reached on their mobile phones. A Director will also be on site during this period and you’re welcome to reach out to security should you wish to contact him.

Please take note that there from 10 December 2020 to 10 January 2021 an additional guard will be provided by BIDVEST to increase patrols during the night shift. The Outside entrance gate will be closed an hour earlier at 10pm. Should you be arriving at the Estate after 10pm you are welcome to call the guards at the gate on 012 991 2560 and they will gladly open the gate for you. Due the COVID19 pandemic many contractors will be working later this year and starting earlier next year. As a result, and in contrast to prior years, contractor access dates will be extended by a week in December 2020 and brought forward by a week in January 2021. The Estate will be closed for any Contractors from the 21st (last day the 18th) of December 2020 and will reopen on 4 January 2020. Only emergency contractors for burst pipes, electrical problems ext. will be allowed access to the estate during this period.

Thank you to those that have donated, it is much appreciated. All contributions no matter how big or small are appreciated by these staff members who are dedicated to the service of Boardwalk Manor. Owners and residents that would like to make a donation this year (especially since the security guards provided an essential service during the COVID lockdown), can do so by EFT (Boardwalk Manor, FNB, 62556921130, 258155, ref: Name), cash payment at the office, or you’re welcome to let the estate manager know should you wish to have your donation debited to your levy account.

RECIPE OF THE MONTH :

PEACH CRUMBLE This year has been no ordinary year, so why not change things up a bit when it comes to dessert as well?Enjoy the deliciousness of summer fruit with this easy to make Peach Crumble.

RECIPE OF THE MONTH: WHAT YOU NEED: INGREDIENTS • 6 large peaches, sliced (about 2 1/2 lb.) • 1/4 c. granulated sugar • Juice of 1/2 lemon • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon • 1/2 tsp. ground ginger • Pinch of salt FOR THE TOPPING • 1 1/2 c all-purpose flour • 1 c. packed brown sugar • 1/2 tsp. salt • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon • 1/2 c. melted butter • Vanilla ice cream, for serving

METHOD: 1. Preheat oven to 190°C. Make peaches: In a large bowl, combine peaches, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, ginger, and salt. 2. Make topping: In a medium bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Pour in melted 3. butter and stir until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. 4. Pour peaches and juices into a large baking dish. Sprinkle crumb topping evenly over peaches. 5. Bake until topping is golden and peaches are bubbling, 45 to 50 minutes. 6. Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.
