Security is of paramount concern in our Estate, and we will endeavour to always keep residents safe. We as the security management of the estate have put in many electronic monitoring systems to always keep residents safe. We are continuing even through to year end, to strategise on the improvement of systems and intelligence of crime. It is however important that residents play their part. Please do not let your guard down during the holiday season, always be vigilant and ensure that your property is safely secured before going on holiday.

Don’t forget to close all windows and fasten the screws on the windows, lock all doors and gates, ensure that taps are all closed properly and switch off your geysers. The safety catch on the sliding doors must be locked. Please familiarise yourselves with the security emergency contact numbers and the general rules of the Estate which are located on the www.mooikloofridge.com website. If there are any security concerns, please contact our security control room and we will assist in resolving these issues speedily. We also have an anonymous tip off section on our website, please use this feature to maintain your identity. I would like to wish you all a pleasant festive season.

ACCESS CONTROL PEDESTRIAN GATE: All pedestrians entering/exiting the Estate via the turnstiles must be in possession of an access tag or gate code. Residents may not attempt to influence the guards to deviate security from their procedures at the Main Gate and turnstile gate. Please comply with security protocol. MOVING IN AND OUT OF THE ESTATE: All moving companies must be provided with an access code to enter/exit the Estate. All moving companies must be provided with a permit to remove goods from the Estate. Moving times: Monday – Saturday 09h00-17h00 Sundays – 09h00-13h00 (Only if the Sunday falls at the end of the month) MOVING GOODS OUT OF THE ESTATE: Residents moving goods out of the Estate will need to collect a permit from the Estate Office to hand to Security on exiting with the goods

Alcohol consumption in common areas The consumption of alcoholin ALL common areas is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. This is a family friendly environment, and the protection of our children is of utmost importance. Common areas constitute any AREA outside your unit like walkways, car parks, garages, parks and recreational areas. Renting or selling Should you wish to rent or sell your apartment please make use of our approved agents, their details can be found on our website www.mooikloofridge.com under Approved Agents. Should you wish to rent an apartment make sure you do a proper background check on who you are renting from before paying over deposits. All our approved agents are accredited with the Estate Agents Affairs Board. Vehicle registration Please make sure that your vehicles are registered with the Estate Office, should you purchase a new vehicle make sure that you update your new information with the Estate Office. Changes to property Making any changes to your property? Please remember you need to obtain permission from your body corporate first.

RECIPE OF THE MONTH: WHAT YOU NEED:

METHOD:

FOR THE COOKIES: • 2/3 c. granulated sugar • 1/2 c. unsalted butter, softened • 2 tsp. vanilla extract • 3/4 tsp. almond extract • 3 large eggs • 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting • 2 tsp. baking powder • 3/4 tsp. salt

1. For the cookies: Beat the sugar, butter, vanilla extract and almond extract until smooth and fluffy. Add the eggs and beat until combined. (The batter will look separated.) 2. Gradually add the flour, baking powder and salt. Beat until all of the dry ingredients are incorporated. Wrap the dough tightly in plastic wrap and chill for at least 1 hour or up to 4 hours. 3. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Shape the dough into about 36, 2,5 cm balls (lightly dusting hands with flour, as needed) and place on 2 parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing each at least 2,5 cm apart. 4. Bake the cookies until set and very lightly browned on the bottom, 10 to 12 minutes. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely, about 30 minutes. 5. For the glaze: In a medium bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk and vanilla extract. Dip the top of each cookie in the glaze, allowing the excess to drip off and then sprinkle with the sprinkles. Let the cookies stand until the glaze hardens, about 30 minutes.

FOR THE GLAZE: • 2 c. powdered sugar • 3 tbsp. milk • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract • Red and green sprinkles, for decorating

Make sure children are always supervised in the pool area. Do not swim if you feel sick. Avoid swallowing swimming pool water as it contains chemicals. Do not run in the pool area. Do not scream in the pool area. Do not dive into the pool unless safe to do so. Keep hydrated. Use sunblock and hats.

Curious about selling? We make it easy.

A lifeguard will be stationed at the swimming pools from 10 December 2021 to 09 January 2022, from 09h00 to 17h00, Monday to Sunday. The responsibility of the lifeguard is to monitor the Estate swimming pool rules and the COVID-19 rules and regualations. The lifegaurd will work hand in hand with security to make sure all residents comply.

The swimming pool times are 09h00 – 19h00, Monday to Friday. • No alcohol is permitted in the pool areas. • Do NOT litter in the pool area • No glass is permitted in the pool area Children under the age of 12 years may not make use of the pools unless they are accompanied by an adult.

Estate clubhouse bathrooms It has been bought to the attention of the Estate Manager that the clubhouse bathrooms are constantly being vandalised, nappies have been found in the urinals, tissues blocking the basins, litter, toilets not flushed to name a few, let’s work together to keep the bathrooms hygienic and clean.

Braai areas

Residents can make use of the braai areas, please remember to practice social distancing and wear cloth face masks in this area, alcohol is not permitted, stretch tents are not permitted. Residents are asked to please make use of the dustbins provided for litter.

Things to keep in mind this festive season: • Fireworks are not permitted on the Estate. • If you have pets, make sure they are looked after during the festive season. • Practice good neighbourliness, respect your neighbour during this time. • If you are going away on vacation, make sure your house is properly secure. • Adhere strictly to the Estate speed limit, there are more children than normal out celebrating the holidays.
