NEWS FROM THE CEO November means that summer is almost here in all her glory with offerings of hot sunny days and cool summer showers, not to mention Pretoria’s all-time favourite, thunderstorms! The warm weather provides perfect conditions for being outdoors and enjoying time with family and friends around the braai. November is also Movember Month - Our fathers, partners, brothers and friends face a health crisis that isn’t being talked about. Men are dying too young. We can’t afford to stay silent. We encourage you to address some of the biggest health issues faced by men: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention. To show your support grow a moustache during November. Our staff are showing their support too.

LIGHTNING AND SIRENS Residents closer to the Clubhouse may hear a siren going off. The most familiar siren is usually at 11h00 when golfers have a shotgun start. The other siren is when we expect lightning on the estate and golfers are requested to move off the golf course and take shelter. Our weather system is monitored closely and residents who hear this siren, should also take note of potential strikes in the area. FIRES It is extremely dry. Residents are requested to take extreme caution, specifically with open fires in Phase 3. Should you ever

NEWS FROM THE CEO (cont.) suspect a fire, specifically in Phase 3, please contact the Control Room from where the team will be commissioned to fight the fire. BUILDING PLANS We wish to remind our members that all construction requires approved building plans. We have had a number of cases where a builder advised the member that plans are not required for car ports or other structures which resulted in hefty penalties being issued to the member. In some cases, the structures or part thereof had to be removed to be compliant with our rules. Please contact the HOA office for clarity if you are unsure whether plans are required. WHERE CAN I WALK AND WHERE NOT ON THE GOLF COURSE We thought that we will once again and for the last time share the following information to ensure that residents that are non-complaint with the rules, cannot say that they did not know when being issued a penalty.

There are three core rules, doesn’t matter where you walk your dog: (1) it needs to be on a leash, (2) you need to have a bag to pick up their pooh and (3) dogs can be walked in the tarred roads in phase 3 but not in the field in the game reserve or on the ring-road. It appears that friends of residents, new residents or people staying in guesthouses are the biggest culprits of noncompliance. Please remember that you remain accountable for your guest and their dog’s behaviour. Let’s read further: Golf course • Dogs may only be walked on the golf course during non-golfing hours from 6h15 until about 18h00. • Dogs can be walked on the cart path at any time of the day, but with a leash and as long as you have a bag to collect the pooh.

• Island on the 14th – this is out of bounds for any person and their dog during the period of play. How will you know that golf has finished and you can walk on the golf course? The Marshalls remove the flags after the last players, which means that you can now walk your dog on the golf course, with a leash of course! Phase 3 • Dogs may only be walked on the tar road. • The walking in the field i.e. hiking trail is strictly forbidden as dogs usually bark at or try chase the buck. • The walking of dogs along the gravel round around the game reserve is also strictly forbidden. This is meant for the handful of residents that do not comply. To everybody else, thank you for your cooperation.
