Summer 2023
EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
A World of Possibilities

Weare thrilled to be able to offer our extra-curricular programme to Glendower students once again this Summer Term. The primary aims of our extra-curricular provisions are to offer breadth of choice to all students and allow them to flourish outside of academics.
This programme will provide students with the opportunities to discover and pursue other interests outside of the regular classroom.
Clubs and extra-curricular activities promote a positive mindset and help students increase their confidence and focus, whilst decreasing feelings of anxiety.

We encourage all students to take part in an extra-curricular club, whether that be inside or out of school. Please be mindful of striking the right balance of clubs for your daughter, ensuring that she is not overloaded, and do limit her commitments to an age-appropriate amount.
The selection of clubs on offer at Glendower include Sports, Creativity, Film-making, Chess, Science, School Council, Skills, Music and many others. We are sure every Glendower girl will find something that captures her imagination and sparks a lifelong passion.

Welcome to the Clubs and Wraparound Care Brochure for Summer 2023. You will find some new information here, so please read carefully and do ask if you have any questions. We hope that you enjoy this term’s programme and that the students find something that interests and inspires them.
Please note that some clubs, FIT sessions or squads are invitation-only and these students and parents will be contacted prior to the opening for club bookings. Please note that all invitational clubs are free of charge. Existing places in musical groups roll over so your daughter will not receive a new invitation to attend. Please do let us know if she wishes to discontinue any invitational musical group so that her place may be assigned to another.
To simplify the booking process and to help families keep track of their daughter’s activities, we will be using SchoolCloud as a means of signing up and paying for ALL Clubs. Please note that you will need a PayPal account to book and confirm places on any paid club.
Please note that we will now be limiting pupils to THREE clubs in total, therefore please be mindful of your daughter’s invitational clubs in addition to the clubs available on School Cloud. We hope that you will respect that limit, and seek the right balance for your daughter’s time before and after school. We would strongly recommend that younger girls are limited to one (or two) clubs per week.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me via email.
Best Wishes
Amelia Sinclair Assistant Head (Educational Operations) sinclaira@glendowerprep.org
