Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta's Spring Renewal Guide 2025-26

April 1June 30

Greetings Girl Scout Families!

Spring is the season of new beginnings, fresh growth, and brighter days. It also marks the special time of year when you and your family can keep enjoying your adventures with Girl Scouts by renewing your membership.

Each day, Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta goes beyond the cookie by providing programming that develops life skills and core values that build courage, confidence and character. Whether it is unlocking the outdoors or participating in STEM activities, Girl Scouting equips our girls with the confidence to thrive in even the most challenging times.

Our programs evolve with your girl as she explores her interests and discovers her strengths. We are committed to continuing to deliver programming that is engaging, relevant, and impactful for girls of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.

We are a legacy organization and must ensure that Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta will be here for girls—both now and for generations to come, as it has for more than a century. This requires that we use our resources wisely, plan strategically, and invest in the future of our organization, as we are not immune to the impacts of inflation and economic uncertainty. Not only are rising costs impacting you at home through higher grocery prices and daily services, but we’re also feeling it at Girl Scouts in our retail costs, cookie costs, and program fees.

To grow the Girl Scout Movement, membership fees have increased for the 2025-2026 membership year. Annual membership fees now include Girl Scouts of the USA’s national membership fee of $45 for girls and $30 for adults, plus an additional $10 Council Service Fee for all girl members to resource local programs.

These increases will continue to support the organization’s innovative programming and experiences for members while maintaining our outdoor facilities, owned-assets, operational costs, and staffing systems. We are bridging the gap between the program fees charged versus actual program costs in pace with inflation and the rising costs to operate our programs.

We are resilient and will keep this spirit as we build our girls to be courageous and confident.

In service to our Forever Sisterhood,

CEO, Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta

Choose Your Own Adventure

Become a Juliette Girl Scout

Being in a Girl Scout troop is awesome, but sometimes you need to blaze your own trails. You can customize your Girl Scout experience by becoming Juliette Girl Scout!

Juliettes are independently registered Girl Scout members in grades K-12 who are not affiliated with a troop. They participate in a way that fits their schedule, attending events and taking part in activities that meet their individual needs and interests, with the support of an adult.

Joining as a Juliette is great for Girl Scouts without a troop available nearby, who want to enjoy Girl Scout programming with their family, or who have a busy school and extracurricular schedule.

What can a Juliette do?

Everything Girl Scouts in a troop can do! As a Juliette, you have the same opportunities as girls in traditional troops and are able to pick and choose the way you want to participate in Girl Scouts, both in person and virtually.

We even have special council-planned events exclusively for Juliettes. And yes, you can still sell Girl Scout Cookies!

Have questions?

You can learn more at Juliettes.GirlScoutsATL.org. You can also contact our Juliette Coordinator at Juliettes@gsgatl.org.

Girl Scouts Is A Great Value

Though membership dues are increasing for Membership Year 2026, Girl Scouting is still a fraction of other extracurricular activities. In fact, American families spend an average of $731 per child on extracurricular activities each year, according to a survey done by LendingTree. A year of Girl Scouting usually costs less than $300 in total per girl, including dues, uniforms, badges, and programming.

However, families don’t have to weigh Girl Scouts versus other extracurricular activities. It can be Girl Scouts AND your favorite extracurricular activities. Girl Scouting is a customizable experience that can accommodate your schedule and interests. Plus, a variety of Girl Scout badges have topics related to popular activities like dancing, horseback riding, athletics, and music.

The Alum Difference

The benefits of continuing your Girl Scout adventure through Ambassador level.

Girl Scouts is more than an activity—it’s a way of life that brings out the best in girls, even in the most challenging of times. Research from the Girl Scout Research Institute (GSRI) on program alums shows that participating in Girl Scouts is a powerful factor for developing courage, confidence, and character, which in turn builds a foundation for success in education and careers, enables a lifetime of leadership, and provides high levels of life satisfaction.

• Sixty-eight percent (68%) of alums assert that Girl Scouts has had a positive impact on their lives.

• Alums who were in Girl Scouts for two or more years showed a significant increase in beneficial life outcomes.

• The longer alums were engaged in Girl Scouts, the more likely they are to be successful and satisfied with their lives.

This is even more pronounced if they earned highest awards, especially the Gold Award.

Go for Gold and Experience the Impact of the Gold Award!

Both Girl Scout alums and other women perceive the Gold Award as a prestigious and powerful recognition. Additionally, while being a Girl Scout alum is linked to more positive life outcomes compared to other women, earning the Gold Award has even greater benefits.

Gold Award Girl Scout alums are more likely to:

• Exhibit courage, confidence, and character

• Attain a college or graduate degree

• Volunteer or donate to causes they support

• Hold three or more leadership roles in their everyday lives

• Be satisfied with life—personally, professionally, and financially

Gold Award Girl Scout alums report that the Gold Award process helped them develop essential twenty-first-century employment skills, giving them a boost in their academic and professional lives. They also affirm that the Gold Award helped them get into college or graduate programs, earn scholarships, and secure jobs.

Become a member for life—and you’ll be a champion of girls for years to come.

I am so happy I am a lifetime member of Girl Scouts. As I have grown up I feel like the organization and it’s opportunities have grown with me. Now I am able to be an adult member where I can impact the future leaders of tomorrow while also still gaining new leadership skills for myself. Jordan F.
