ALUMNI IN ACTION
Not-just-for-golf club car — The Alumni Association purchased a new golf cart (in GSW blue) so they could show off the beautiful campus to returning alums. The Association is gracious enough to let other departments around campus use the cart when needed, as well.
Staying connected—John Summey, Helen Summey (’50) and Myra Campbell (’42) stand together boasting a carved wooden logo that Helen won during the Alumni Awards Brunch.
Unrivaled dedication—Glynn Mathis (’51) received the Aeolian Award from President Moses. The Aeolian Award is the highest GSW alumni award. In 10 years Mathis never missed an Alumni Board of Directors meeting. Dancing the night away— Alums sang and danced along with the band “Shimmer” following other alumni festivities earlier in the day.
Leading the fun—Alumni President Doug Moses shows the group how to have a good time during the alumni dance.
Bringing ‘em back—Sonja Duggar (’79), left, was the 2012 Leewynn J. Finklea Award winner. Alumni President Doug Moses (’97), right, recognized her efforts at the Awards Brunch in organizing a successful reunion for the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.
