LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

in Review 2022

Looking forward to the 2022-2023 season the board of directors and committee members are fast at work in their planning. Feedback has been collected via the committee surveys, website idea/feedback form, and through individual communications directed to our representatives.

It is with great excitement that WACPC presents the 2022 Year In Review program! We made it! Together we have weathered the storm of COVID that arrived at our doors two years ago. Together we have been able to celebrate so many other triumphs earned, and challenges faced! Looking back on the 2021-2022 season holds the memories of the return to in-person championship events for our cheerleaders and dancers - long awaited moments to be sure! WACPC’s annual Fall Conference for coaches and captains also returned to in-person in 2021 and we couldn’t be more grateful for our members, athletes, speakers, board and committee members who made the event both memorable and successful! Thank you to Morgan Kube and her YIR Team for bringing together another year’s program that reflects these achievements!

• WACPC’s Fall Coaches and Captains Conference will return to the Wilderness, Wisconsin Dells on the weekend of November 11th - 13th, 2022 with plans underway! • WACPC’s cheer and dance committees continue to increase their commitment to education, as a part of our focus on the association’s mission statement. • Member registration will open July 1st, 2022 and we encourage members to take advantage of benefits for the coming season by registering early! With the pandemic shifting to an endemic, WACPC is also changing focus from helping our membership persevere, to goal setting for the benefit of our members. We encourage our members to keep connected by reviewing Board of Director Minutes posted to our website following meetings; to connect with your district and at large representatives, or utilize the website’s idea/feedback form that is on the homepage of our website. Our Past President, Sue Putra, long advocated for our membership to have a voice within the association. As I stepped into the role of President, our board of directors continued to uphold this ideal . WACPC remains committed to “hearing ideas and feedback regardless of the topic.” and are committed to growing our relationship with all members. This spring and summer the Board of Directors will be meeting to make decisions and set goals for the coming season: • Handbook and standard operating procedures for our members, officials, and board of directors will see continued development and improvements. • WACPC will continue to consider if decisions are in the best interest of the athletes and members; • And work to identify financial implications for our athletes and members. As we close the chapter on the 2021-2022 season, it is a time to also recognize those who have given so selflessly. WACPC is grateful to have so many board members and committee members who were willing to sacrifice their personal and family time to serve our members through such a difficult time. Each has been selfless in their efforts to help! This year WACPC was blessed to have the continued support and guidance of Sue Putra, as she completed her year of Past President. Beyond her 7 year tenure as President, and Past President, Sue has also dedicated countless years as a volunteer representing WACPC, and advocating for our Wisconsin dance and cheer teams. We wish Sue the very best! Alea Norrish served this past year as Vice President of WACPC, during a year we all thought was going to be “easier” than the last. Alea has made the decision to conclude her term as Vice President this summer, but will continue to represent WACPC in her other roles within the organization. As a new president for the association, I could not have asked for a better partner to work and lead with. We hope as our members close out their 2021-2022 season, that this publication reaches you in good spirits and hopeful for what the future holds! Sincerely,

Carrie Luedtke, President

Wisconsin Association of Cheer & Pom Coaches, Inc. 4
