BASC Secretary Report December 10, 2023 Dear BASC Members, I am writing to express my gratitude for the privilege of serving as the Secretary for the Badgerland Area Service Committee (BASC). It has been an honor to work alongside such dedicated and passionate individuals who are committed to the principles of service and recovery. Accomplishments for the Month: 1. Checked PO Box: One of the essential tasks during the month involved consistently checking the PO box for any incoming mail or correspondence. This ensured that we stayed informed about any communications or important information that required our attention. 2. Removed from the Check Book: As part of the ongoing efforts to maintain transparency and accountability, I have successfully transitioned out of the checkbook responsibilities. This change ensures a smooth handover and proper continuity in financial matters. 3. Communication with Region on Literature Purchases: Recognizing the importance of literature in our mission, I actively communicated with the regional office regarding literature purchases. This ensures that our area stays well-stocked with the necessary materials to support those seeking recovery. Closing Thoughts: Serving as your Secretary has been a tremendous learning experience, and I am proud of the progress we have made together. Each accomplishment is a testament to the collective dedication of our members towards the common goal of carrying the message of recovery. I want to express my deepest appreciation to the entire BASC community for your cooperation, encouragement, and shared commitment to service. Public Relations Subcommittee Report December 10, 2023

Good afternoon ASC, my name is Mark and I’m an addict and my time as Public Relations subcommittee chairperson is winding dow n. It’s been a great almost 2 years and PR work still continues and here is the work that is ongoing and the committee hopes to continue in the years to come 1. The current subcommittee will provide the new chairperson with the following: a flash drive containing, agendas, reports, contacts, budgets, etc., access to badgerlandpublicreations@gmail.com including the password which contains all past communications with NA, professionals and the public. Will provide all materials belonging to Badgerland Area including new and old tablecloth, literature rack with 16 slots, approximately 1250 business cards, NA books for display, IPs and booklets for the rack, 3 old bus signs with the old number (so far). 2. A proposed budget has been made for thr PR subcommitee for 2024 that we like to present to the ASC today so that the GSRs can bring back to their groups to voted upon at the January ASC. 3. Bus Signs: We are in communication with Madison Metro and Houck Advertising to gather up any and all old bus signs whether they have the old or new Helpline number. They might be used for more permanent store front signs or replacement signs for Janesville and Beloit buses. 4. At the December PR subcommittee meeting we asked ourselves these two questions and we asked you also to think of some answers to these questions: a. How do we as a committee encourage participation and leadership in Public Relations to foster new ideas? and b. Even though as it is written in Policy as suggestions, are we going continue the endeavors of the PR committee of the last 8 years? 5. Sometime in early spring or summer we will let let you know when the bus tail signs in Madison and the billboards on the highways will be going up. 6. We would like to continue the efforts in contacting county courts within the Badgerland Area. 7. Janesville Gazette: After repeated attempts to have this newspaper correct our listing in their Friday listing of communities agencies and help groups I decided to tell them to just take our listing of NA meetings in the area off their list....However we set up an account with them and have added back the meetings with the correct names of meetrings and times and places.
