1. The New York Times video logo suggests that the old gray lady is ready to play in the digital world. The animated logo is accompanied by a new audio logo that riffs on the Mac’s C major boot-up. Discount travel site Hotwire has grounded the plane that was a highly visible element of the original logo. The rationale: Hotwire helps travelers get deals on all sorts of travel. The new brand — with a new slogan of “Hotels. Deals. Happiness.” — is centered on the happiness customers say they experience when scoring a deal.
