ANCHE ROMA HA IL SUO MARE EVEN ROME HAS A SEA

Il caldo afoso di Roma lo conoscono bene sia i romani che i turisti, e per quanto sia meraviglioso godersi le serate al centro, quando finalmente la temperatura diventa accettabile, durante il giorno potrebbe essere un’ottima idea spingersi sulla vicina costa tirrenica, dove ci sono diverse spiagge, alcune molto famose, altre meno conosciute, e alcuni inaspettati gioielli dove il mare è sorprendentemente limpido e permette di godersi una giornata piacevole ad appena un’ora di macchina dalla Capitale. Ecco dunque una piccola classifica delle spiagge più belle e imperdibili intorno a Roma, assolutamente da visitare.

SANTA MARINELLA

A circa un’ora a nord di Roma, facilmente raggiungibile dalla Via Aurelia, questa piccola località che basa la sua esistenza quasi esclusivamente sulle attività turistiche legate al mare è davvero deliziosa, con un elegante lungomare e un porticciolo romantico.

Ma l’attrazione principale è la lunga spiaggia sabbiosa (l’unica, visto che qui per il resto la costa è principalmente rocciosa e frastagliata) perfetta per tutti, comprese le famiglie con i bambini. Santa Marinella viene definita “Perla del Mediterraneo”, e non a caso: rispetto alle altre spiagge che troverete nei dintorni di Roma, qui sarete sorprendentemente accolti da un mare limpido e cristallino, che vi farà venire voglia di stare a mollo per tutto il giorno.

Attenzione, però: non esiste spiaggia libera, quindi si dovrà usufruire del posto con ombrellone e sdraio, ovviamente a pagamento, di uno degli stabilimenti lungo la piccola baia sabbiosa. I prezzi, tuttavia, sono abbordabili per una giornata al mare o anche per chi volesse passare qualche tempo in villeggiatura.

GAETA

In questo caso, si scende a sud della Capitale, ed essendo a circa 120 km di distanza, conviene visitare questa parte della costa laziale almeno per un weekend. Anche qui, la bellezza di spiagge e calette non troppo frequentate (se non magari in agosto) vi farà innamorare, in particolare la caletta denominata Le Scissure, perfetta per chi vuole evitare le orde di turisti e gli stabilimenti balneari e cerca un po’ di relax in tranquillità, oltre che un bellissimo mare. Se invece cercate una spiaggia attrezzata, magari adatta anche ai bambini piccoli, meglio puntare sulla famosa spiaggia di Serapo, ben attrezzata e perfetta anche per i giovani, che troveranno strutture adatte a loro.

ANZIO

Sempre a sud di Roma, ma molto più vicina di Gaeta alla capitale, Anzio offre delle spiagge davvero suggestive, posizionate talvolta in contesti scenografici mozzafiato. Una delle più famose, assolutamente da visitare, è la spiaggia delle Grotte di Nerone, situata tra scogliere frastagliate e dove si possono vedere i resti dell’antica dimora del famigerato imperatore romano. Troverete anche diversi tratti di spiaggia libera, come Lido delle Sirene, Anzio Colonia e Cincinnato, nonché molti stabilimenti balneari attrezzati per le famiglie e per l’accoglienza dei più piccoli.

LADISPOLI

Ad appena 40 km a sud della Capitale troviamo Ladispoli, che si situa alla foce di due piccoli fiumi: il Sanguinara e il Vaccina. Qui è possibile vedere, al largo della costa, una piccola barriera corallina, davvero inusuale per le coste del Tirreno. Si può visitate con delle immersioni organizzate, partendo dal porto di Ladispoli. Un’altra particolarità di questa zona sono i diversi siti archeologici visitabili, con testimonianze della presenza greco-romana nell’area, nonché il Castello degli Odescalchi, anch’esso visitabile, antica dimora del fondatore della città di Ladispoli.

The sultry heat of Rome is well known by both Romans and tourists, and although it is wonderful to enjoy the evenings in the centre, when the temperature finally becomes acceptable, during the day it could be an excellent idea to go to the nearby Tyrrhenian coast, where there there are several beaches, some very famous, others less known, and some unexpected jewels where the sea is surprisingly clear and alwyas pleasant, just an hour’s drive from the capital. So here is a small ranking of the most beautiful and unmissable beaches around Rome, absolutely worth a visit.

Santa Marinella

About an hour north of Rome, easily reached from the Via Aurelia, this small town that bases its existence almost exclusively on tourist activities related to the sea is truly delightful, with an elegant promenade and a romantic marina. But the main attraction is the long sandy beach (the only one, since the rest of the coast here is mainly rocky and jagged) perfect for everyone, including families with children. Santa Marinella is defined as the “Pearl of the Mediterranean”, and not by chance: compared to the other beaches that you will find around Rome, here you will be surprisingly welcomed by a crystal clear sea, which will make you want to soak all day long .

But be careful: there is no free beach, so you will have to take advantage of the place with umbrella and deck chairs, obviously for a fee, of one of the establishments along the small sandy bay. The prices, however, are affordable for a day at the beach or even for those wishing to spend some time on holiday.

GAETA

About 120 km south of the capital, it is recommended that you visit this part of the Lazio coast for at least a weekend. Here too, the beauty of the not too busy beaches and coves

(if not perhaps in August) will make you fall in love, in particular the cove called Le Scissure, perfect for those who want to avoid the hordes of tourists and beach resorts and are looking for relaxation in tranquility, as well as a beautiful sea.

If, on the other hand, you are looking for an equipped beach, perhaps also suitable for small children, it is better to focus on the famous Serapo beach, well equipped and perfect also for young people, who will find structures suitable for them.

Anzio

Also south of Rome, but much closer to the capital than Gaeta, Anzio offers truly beautiful beaches, sometimes positioned in breathtaking scenic contexts. One of the most famous, a must-visit, is the Grotte di Nerone beach, located between jagged cliffs and where you can see the remains of the ancient home of the infamous Roman emperor. You will also find several stretches of free beach, such as Lido delle Sirene, Anzio Colonia and Cincinnato, as well as many bathing establishments equipped for families and welcoming for children.

Ladispoli

Just 40 km south of the capital we find Ladispoli, which is located at the mouth of two small rivers: the Sanguinara and the Vaccina. Here it is possible to see a small coral reef off the coast which is very unusual for the Tyrrhenian coast. It can be visited with organized dives starting from the port of Ladispoli. Another peculiarity of this area is the various archaeological sites that can be visited, with evidence of the Greco-Roman presence in the area, as well as a visit to the Odescalchi Castle, an ancient residence of the founder of the city of Ladispoli.
