Presented at the Shanghai Motor Show, Maserati’s Grecale SUV will be presented by the end of the year with an all-electric version called the Folgore, defined by Quattroruote as a milestone for the Trident company -The two-door is designed for high performance (reaches 760 HP of maximum power), while the SUV is more balanced and, while offering noteworthy performance, focuses heavily on autonomy. The heart of the powertrain is in fact a large 105 kWh (nominal) battery with 400 volt technology positioned under the passenger compartment, in the floor of the car, so as not to steal space on board, while reducing the car’s center of gravity, to the advantage of driveability. The declared range reaches 500 kilometers (average consumption is 23.6 kWh/100 km), while there is an on-board charger for refueling energy.

The battery is combined with two 205 kW electric motors, equivalent to 279 horsepower, with integrated single-ratio transmission and differential: positioned one per axle, the latter create four-wheel drive and allow the Maserati Grecale Folgore to offer maximum power of 558 HP with 820 Nm of torque. The weight of the car is 2,480 kg (distributed 47.2% at the front and 52.8% at the rear), but acceleration is sporty: 0-100 km/h takes just 4.1 seconds, while 0-200 takes 16.1 seconds. The maximum speed, on the other hand, is 220 km/h.

The prices of the Maserati Grecale Folgore are certainly not for everyone: in fact, they are close to 120,000 euros. The arrival in Europe is scheduled for the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024.
