ASSIGNMENT DUTIES

Lieutenant’s Paul Bruce and Cedrick Cook supplement all five patrol districts as critical incident commanders during peak call volume hours. Both Lieutenant’s primarily respond to major scenes involving violent crimes, traffic fatalities, and those were use of force incidents have occurred.

COUNTY WIDE COVERAGE

In total, all five patrol districts amount to 973 square miles of jurisdiction with an estimated population of about 2.5 million citizens. Harris County is unique among all counties in the nation for having an unincorporated area population in excess of two million residents. “Harris County Unincorporated” would be the second largest city in Texas, the fifth largest in the U.S. and has a larger population than 14 U.S. states.
