EVENT RECAP FRED FAMILY DAY

On Saturday, August 16th, 2025, FRED employees and their families gathered for a day of fun, food, and festivities at the Milwaukee County Zoo during the ever-popular A La Carte at the Zoo event. With over 300 guests in attendance, this year’s FRED Family Day was one for the books!

The zoo came alive with laughter and excitement as families explored animal exhibits, enjoyed live entertainment, and sampled a wide array of delicious local cuisine featured at A La Carte. FRED added to the festivities with a dedicated area featuring kid-friendly crafts, colorful face painting, and fun that brought smiles to attendees of all ages

We were thrilled to have a professional family photographer on site to help capture the special moments throughout the day. From candid laughs to posed portraits, you can now click here to find, download, print, and share your family photo from the event!

From toddlers getting their faces painted as tigers to employees bonding over Milwaukee’s best eats, the day offered something for everyone The event was not only a great way to connect with colleagues outside the office, but also a chance for FRED to say thank you to the families who support our incredible team year-round We’re looking forward to next year!

PROJECT UPDATE SUMMER CONSTRUCTION INTERNS

This summer, our construction department’s internship program brought together a group of three students eager to learn more about construction, project management, and the building process from the ground up. Over the course of 12 weeks, our interns, Abigail, Kira, and Reese, gained meaningful exposure to the technical, managerial, and practical sides of multifamily construction and development, while also experiencing the collaborative culture that drives our everyday work

In the field, the interns participated in focused discussions on roofing systems, soil testing, Tyvek applications, and erosion control practices. These sessions were led by experienced team members and trade partners who emphasized the “why” behind each practice. Interns learned about the long-term performance impacts of proper roofing installation, the importance of weather barriers like Tyvek in protecting building envelopes, and the environmental and compliance considerations tied to erosion control. These deep dives gave students a stronger appreciation for the technical details that determine durability, safety, and code compliance.

The summer program also emphasized training in documentation, cost management, safety, and quality control - all essential tools for anyone aspiring to lead in construction management Through exercises and exposure to real project processes, interns witnessed how budgets are tracked, change orders are processed, and quality inspections are managed.

A highlight of the summer was the team visit to a Carrier manufacturing facility, where interns had the chance to see firsthand how the HVAC systems in our developments are designed and produced This visit showcased Carrier’s quality control processes, a tour of the manufacturing floor, and a preview of new mechanical systems coming to market The group left with a much clearer picture of how products flow from the factory floor to the job site, and how critical vendor relationships are.

Finally, interns were invited to sit in on contractor discussions and coordination meetings, where they observed how complex projects are managed through clear communication From subcontractor buyout to progress updates, they witnessed the critical role that relationships and problem-solving play in turning a design into the built environment.

This summer reminded us that investing in future talent is investing in the future of the Construction Group. We’re thrilled that all three interns have chosen to return next summer or join Fiduciary after graduation, continuing their journey with our team

I recently went on a short mission trip to Nicaragua with Compass Church and Orphan Network We served two communities in need, preparing meals and feeding 80–90 children in each I also had the opportunity to lead a kids’ Bible lesson One of the most meaningful parts of the trip was connecting with the women in the communities We had powerful conversations about self-love, faith, and encouragement It was a truly humbling and uplifting experience I encourage everyone to take part in a mission trip if you have the chance!

In July, my husband Sean, my son Henry, and I finally had the opportunity to visit Sean’s family in Oregon for their annual July Birthday Bash The last time Sean had visited was in 2015, so it was a first for Henry and me! Sean’s Aunt Marsha made fresh salmon (pictured) and we got to taste delicious local fare at Pike Place Market and along the west coast. We had the best time on our week-long journey, staying in Seattle, Corvallis, Newport (pictured), and Seaside. We are looking forward to visiting much more often!

INDYCAR RACES

FRED was thrilled to be a major sponsor of one of Milwaukee’s biggest summer traditions, the IndyCar races at the historic Milwaukee Mile. To celebrate, we gave employees a chance to win box seat tickets to the Saturday, August 23rd qualifiers with a fun twist: send in a hand-drawn IndyCar featuring the FRED logo

Thirteen team members submitted their sketches and each earned a pair of tickets. The prize also included pit passes, giving winners a behind-the-scenes look at the IndyCars and crews who keep them racing at top speed O race day, our employees enjoyed sunny skies roaring engines, and the unforgettable thrill high-speed competition from the comfort of the FRED box seats.

Thank you to everyone who joined in the fun and helped represent FRED at this exciting event!

SOCIAL SPOTLIGHT ALOHA AT APEX

Apex at Verona made waves this summer with a festive Hawaiian Luau by the pool, generating excitement during lease-up and showcasing the community Residents enjoyed food fresh off the new grills, tropical drinks, games, raffle prizes, and more.

The event’s success came from Apex’s start-to-finish social media approach The team built excitement by announcing it three weeks in advance, sharing reminders, and hosting a “Best Dressed” contest that had everyone showing up in style. Photos and highlights were later shared online, keeping the buzz going and bringing the event full circle.

Events like this create lasting memories for residents while also attracting future ones, showing the value of thoughtful planning and engagement
