CONCRETE HOUSE

How can a relatively cold material house a cozy home? The exterior of the house is a clean concrete form contrasted by wood accents. The honest textures of materials give character to the simplistic shape of the house. The concrete continues to the open plan interior. The varying shades of concrete delineate the horizontal and vertical concrete planes. The choice of bright colored elements neutralizes the rigidity of the interior of the house. The dark colored doors, the warm dark furniture pieces, and the bright, warm colored accent pieces contrast the coolness of the concrete. This house was proposed to be a boxy exercise of contemporary Brutalism. With two bedrooms and two baths, this a cozy space for a family with this aesthetic preference. A

MODERN JEEPNEY

OBJECTS How can the jeepney be modernized without removing its core essence? This is a concept of what the next evolution of the jeepney could look like. The form is basically a rounded rectangular prism on wheels with an electric powertrain. This is an exercise on how to modernize the jeepney without compromising the local jeepney manufacturing industry. The simplicity of the form allows the bodywork to be fabricated by existing local jeepney manufacturers using familiar methodologies. The smooth surfaces can also be a canvas for murals. The jeepney is cultural just as much as it is utilitarian, so it is essential to retain a certain resemblance of its history and meaning.

Mobile devices are lifestyle gadgets focused on consumption, but usually lack services catering to health. There are a lot of devices and apps offering fitness services, but not to an extent that it's considered a medical device. What if there is a device that focuses on in-depth health monitoring? A device that could serve like a smart ID that could securely contain a person's medical information and history, from doctor's appointments, prescriptions, to hospital records.

A device securely accessible to medical professionals through NFC, when needed, to optimize most of the info-based medical processes. A device that could optimize setting up appointments, purchasing medicine, and making sure a person completes all medical-related necessities. A device that could alert the necessary people in case of emergencies. The goal of the device is to streamline a person's medical needs so they can focus on living.
