How can a brand break the gender stigma of skin care?

OWN is a skin care brand catering to both men and women. Branding of most skin care brands are polarized, showing a distinct pre-concieved divide between the brand for male and female. The divide between sexes is slowly feathering, but the distinction between brands are still clear.

Everyone needs to take care of their skin, but skin care routines are generally considered feminine. The goal of the brand is to break that stigma, and normalize skin care for everyone. There is a need for brands that cater to all genders, brands that don’t adhere to gender normative standards of branding and marketing.

The name was formulated so it can resonate with everyone, also it symbolizes taking responsibility for one’s own body and hygiene. Unlocking Neutrality

The logo is a modified wordmark of the name with the brand. The “o” of the logo is designed to resemble a turned keyhole, to symbolize breaking free from the standards that holds everyone back.
