How can a space look minimal without sacrificing function?

The space was designed to be minimal without compromising comfort and utility. The client wanted a high contrast, neutral color scheme, hence the use of white, grays and blacks. Aside from the wood flooring the play on the finishes gives texture to an otherwise basic space.
The living room elements were design to be configurable to also serve as dining, working, and sleeping space. This is afforded by the custom modular sofa and folding side desk.
This setup along with the plethora of storage cabinets help maintain the minimalistic space while maintaining utility.
