Rattlers & Reptiles

"The largest rattlesnake exhibit on the planet"

10AM TO 6PM DAILY, OR BY APPOINTMENT


View more than 100 live reptiles and amphibians on exhibit at the Rattlesnake Musuem. You can also meet some of the local desert mammals, poisonous arachnids, and insects. Rattlers & Reptiles is located across the street from Fort Davis NHS. (432) 249 2572


October 25th was the last hike with a homeless dog event for 2018. The series will resume Spring 2019.

Over a dozen hearty hikers took on the highest peak in the Davis Mountains Range. The inaugural Hunger Challenge was a benefit for the Food Pantry of Jeff Davis County.

The Full Moon Hike at CDRI was a success! Thanks to everyone for coming out. Over 20 people showed up on a chilly night to hike out to Clayton's Overlook. Look for more FULL MOON HIKES coming up in 2019!

Our friends from Sul Ross State University's Theatre Department put on a sneak peak of one of their fall programs MACBETH over at the Hotel Limpia's courtyard. Select scenes from Shakespeare's classic drama were preformed in front of a well attended audience. MACBETH opened October 26th and will continue its run until November 4th.


Our Lions Club proves that they really are the whole enchilada. The Fort Davis Lions Club hosted an enchilada supper on October 26th to benefit their club. The dinner helped the organization continue its good will stewardship to the community.

Early voting kicked off in Fort Davis in late October for the General Election on November 6th. As the old saying goes - "vote as you please, but please VOTE!"

Come out to Fort Davis National Historic Site, Sunday, November 11th, to pay tribute to those who've served. Event begins at 4pm. Minister Greg Meads will be the guest speaker. There will be no entrance fee for this event.

The Veterans Day observance will continue Monday, November 12th. At 2pm, the Fort Davis High School Auditorium will open it's doors to the community for an afternoon of patriotic singing and poetry. Names of locals who served will be read aloud. The community is invited to this free event.
