Fort Davis Cool summer evenings and mild winters make Fort Davis an ideal spot to host your next event. The Kelly Pavilion, conveniently located behind the Chamber of Commerce and Jeff Davis County Library, is the perfect space for festivities. The Kelly Pavilion is approximately 3800 sq/feet and can host between 275-500 people depending on seating arrangements. Tables, chairs, tablecloths, propane heaters, and a small PA system are also available, and our picnic tables are complimentary with rental of Pavilion. OFF! Ultra Expedition's Southwest 100 debuted late last month with around 80 people partcipating in the grueling up and down trail race through Fort Davis National Historic Site and Davis Mts. State Park. To find out more information about UE and their races, please visit ULTRAEXPEDITIONS.COM.

On Wednesday, April 3rd, the Fort Davis VFD hosted a SKYWARN class in order for the public to learn more about severe weather and how to report severe conditions to the National Weather Service. The SKYWARN classes are free, and are a great resource for areas that experience inclement weather. For more info on SKYWARN classes, please visit weather.gov/MIDLAND.

The Mile High Chili Cookoff returns to Davis Mountains State Park

The folks from CASI returned once again to far west Texas for the State Park's 5th annual showdown. There was an assortment of chili, salsa, and more to sample at this year's gathering in the Davis Mountains, with attendees being serenaded by the Last Call Band.

Now open on Sundays! CDRI's full hours are Monday Saturday, 9 am to 5pm, and on Sunday 12:30pm to 5:30pm. CDRI is located four miles southeast of Fort Davis off of HWY 118.

Wayne Baize comes to Fort Davis The award-winning western artist Wayne Baize held an exhibit March 19-30 at the Jeff Davis County Library, which included a reception hosted by the Friends of the Jeff Davis County Library on the 21st. McIvor Ranch


McIvor Ranch is a working cattle ranch raising Hereford cattle and Registered Quarter Horses. Gram's Ranch House is a three bedroom house with two full baths. There is one bedroom with a king bed. One room with a queen bed and a single bed. And one room with a queen bed. Each bedroom is equipped with a climate controlled air-conditioning unit during the late spring and summer months. There is a living room with a wonderful fireplace and a television with cable, DVD and VCR, and a fully equipped kitchen including a washer and dryer.
