Member Update!
One of our members, Susie Black, has exciting news to share! “I recently accepted a challenge to participate in a fundraiser for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease Research. The fundraiser was called #MOVEmber4PD and it consisted of 30 days of movement challenges (during the month of November), and the use of social media platforms to raise awareness and educate about Parkinson’s Disease. Due to many generous contributions from FHCC members and friends, I was able to raise almost $7,000 to fund research aimed at finding a cure... and that amount will be matched for double impact! I am so thankful for the support and friendship of our FHCC community.”
MOVEMBER4PD is a month-long virtual event founded by Jimmy and Cherryl Choi to mobilize everyone to MOVE and spread awareness on how movement helps those living with Parkinson’s Disease (PD) during the month of November Jimmy Choi was diagnosed with young onset Parkinson’s Disease at the age of 27. After ignoring the disease for the first 8 years of his diagnosis, he discovered running and exercise helped him manage his symptoms greatly. He has channeled this passion to go on and achieve 105 half marathons, 16 full marathons, gran fondos, has stepped on the national stage to compete on American Ninja Warrior in the last 5 seasons, and during the pandemic broke 2 Guinness World Records for burpees and pushups. We are so proud of you, Mrs. Black! Keep up the good work!

I hope everyone had a happy and healthy holiday season with their families! As the new year begins, it is a great time to make some golf resolutions. Setting achievable goals is the starting point to a better golf game in 2023. Whether it be gaining distance, ball striking, course management, or short game, having a target in these areas will lead to lower scores.

During the winter season, your Professional Staff is creating instructional programs for golfers of all skill levels to reach their goals. Be on the lookout for emails with further information and sign-ups regarding different classes offered this coming season. Currently, we have a Junior Winter Series listed on ForeTees. This is catered towards the 13 to 18 year-old junior golfers to take advantage of the indoor technology, and prepare for the upcoming high school season.

Beginning in 2023, Nick Jones and I will team up to offer a fitness and swing experience. Nick will use his TPI Certification to evaluate golfers’ mobility and strength, and share insight as to how this affects their swing. Using this information, I will diagnose any golf swing tendencies which cause unwanted misses. Finally, the player will receive a plan of improvement from both the fitness aspect, and also the proper swing changes. We feel that players that take advantage of this will see drastic results by focusing on both areas. Feel free to contact me with any questions, and I look forward to spending time with many of you this new year!

New Members
We want to welcome our new members that have joined the Club this past month and are looking forward to adding 25 new social memberships to the Club. At the most recent Board Meeting, the Board of Directors approved an increase in social memberships from 125 to 150 members. This action was supported strongly by the FHCC Management Team now that we have more dining, event, racquet sport and parking capacity. This decision will allow us to add many prospective members to the Club , many of which are awaiting their spot for a golf membership to open. We believe that the move will also help mitigate attrition of the wait list caused by the extremely long and difficult to forecast wait times.
Bocce Courts

The bocce court construction is now complete and looks beautiful. If you have not had an opportunity to take a look at this area, we encourage you to do so. We are looking forward to a fun Bocce League season this spring. Our team will begin their training this month to ensure that our “Bocce Officials” are well versed on the rules and ready to make official calls on who is closest to the Pallino.
Club Room
The Club Room renovation is complete. This area recently received a face lift as budgeted in our Capital Reserve Budget to give our team an area to complete employee orientations and trainings to better serve our membership. This area can also be booked for small member meetings by contacting Alex Dorton, our Director of Events at alexd@foesthillscc.net

Creek Project
The creek project continues to move forward on schedule. Performance of the creek so far during our most recent storm was positive. We are looking forward to seeing the end result when the project concludes in March.
Short Game and North Putting Greens
We covered our newly renovated north putting green and three short game area greens with turf blankets for the winter. These turf blankets are specific to golf course greens and are permeable to precipitation while also retaining heat. They will keep the area under the blanket 5-7 degrees warmer than the outside temperature, helping to ensure the successful growth of the young plants on our new greens. You may see these covers off at times this winter on days where the sun shines bright, and the temperature rises.
Putting Clock
The long-awaited putting clock has arrived and is even more beautiful than we imagined. Thank you to all of you who donated to make this possible. It truly makes a statement, and we hope you all enjoy this new feature.
