EASTERN REGION GIRLS | REPRESENTATIVE PROGRAM By EFL Media
For the first time the Eastern Football League and AFL Yarra Ranges will give the best girls from the Eastern Region the chance to play for the league in representative football. In a joint venture with AFL Yarra Ranges Juniors the league has picked a squad of the best Under 15 girls currently playing in the Eastern Region Girls competition. Majority of players will come from Eastern Football League clubs with 9 players named from clubs in the Yarra Ranges. Eastern Region Girls Coordinator Emily McKie is excited about the best girls in the region being given the chance to showcase their skills, “After watching the first couple of rounds of the season, it is evident that we have some extremely
talented footballers in our region. “To have a girl’s side representing Eastern Region for the first time ever is really exciting for each of the girls in the squad.” The team will compete in the AFL Victoria Junior Metro Championships to be run over the long weekend in June. Round 1 – Wednesday June 1: South Metro JFL v Eastern Region Girls Round 2 – Saturday June 11: Eastern Region Girls v Yarra Junior FL 2 at Walker Park, Mitcham Round 3 - Monday June 13: Eastern Region Girls v Yarra Junior FL 3 at Walker Park, Mitcham
