Originally the Bank of NSW, 56 High Street, Wauchope has undergone a transformation in recent months. Harcourts Greater Port Macquarie’s Wauchope branch is moving back into the renovated premises, returning home… emodelled in 1978, housing a bank, the building is a Wauchope landmark. Wauchope local Ken Mackay was the last bank manager when the bank closed its doors in 1999, and the building was sold to Ross Lindsay, who moved his then real estate franchise - Raine & Horne - into the building in 2000. After a successful 10 years of trade in the premises, Ross re-branded to Harcourts and has gone from strength to strength, now employing 18 staff and having two Harcourts offices, Wauchope and Port Macquarie.

In April this year, Ross moved the Wauchope branch into temporary premises whilst the extensive renovation was undertaken. The downstairs has been revamped, and a residential flat has been added above. A major highlight of the build is the extension of the mural to the wall facing Bain Park; credit must be given to the owner Chris Bowser, artist Silvana Wirepa and paint supply from Hilberts Hardware for keeping this landmark intact. The renovations are now almost complete; Ross and his team are expecting to move back into the revamped office prior to Xmas.

Harcourts Greater Port Macquarie is the one stop real estate agency for your buying, selling, property management and rental needs from Wauchope to Port Macquarie, Bonny Hills to Comboyne, Laurieton to Kempsey. Whether it’s residential, rural, commercial or industrial property you are seeking - Harcourts Greater Port Macquarie has you covered from “The Beach To The Bush”. From the Owner: My family and I run a kitchen business, Kitchen Kraft; I enjoy renovating buildings and

could see the potential of 56 High Street. It’s a great location and by renovating the building, and adding a flat above, the look of the street has been improved, as well as providing potential rental accommodation. The mural that faces Bain Park is a landmark of Wauchope, so by extending it, thanks to artist Silvana, we have improved the outlook of the park, the main street and given something back to the community. We would like to wish Harcourts every success in their new premises.
