What do you like most about living on the Mid North Coast? Port Macquarie is a great place to live, with lots of activities for my family and myself. Lots to see and many places to discover.
What do you like most about living on the Mid North
What is the most exciting development in radiology? Diffusion Weighted Imaging (DWI) has been a revolutionary development, allowing demonstration of strokes in the brain within 20 minutes of first onset symptoms. It is also very useful in tumour works.
What is the most rewarding thing about your job? Accurately diagnosing and treating a wide range of pathology. I strive to provide my patients with the utmost care. It is important that patients feel comfortable and confident in our ability to achieve the best outcome for them. Coast? The warm climate and fantastic coastline. There are some wonderful beaches and great activities for the kids. What is the most exciting development in radiology? Brain MRI, 3D Breast Tomosynthesis and Endovascular Interventional Techniques.
What is your area of expertise / speciality? In my 25 year career as a Diagnostic Radiologist, I have subspecialised in Interventional Radiology and Neuroradiology with vast experience in all modalities, especially MRI and CT. What is the most rewarding thing about your job? The most rewarding aspect of my job is discussing difficult cases with colleagues, then planning the next steps in patient diagnosis. I particularly like when colleagues come to see me in my office so we can review cases together. At the end of the day we are here for the patients, and my everyday goal is to continue providing my patients with the best healthcare solutions in our region. What do you like most about living on the Mid North Coast? I am still very new to the Mid North Coast. So far, living here has been a dream, with the outstanding weather, the beaches, the local restaurants. Such a change from the frigid cold where I had been living. What is the most exciting development in radiology? The most exciting new development in radiology is local cancer therapy, such as Hepatoma Chemoembolisation. We are just beginning this programme at PMBH. If it pans out, we could progress to renal cancer cryotherapy or thermoablation.
