AN ATTITUDE

Meet Luis M. Rivera

Age: 61

Birthplace:** Manhattan, New York City

Raised in: The South Bronx

I proudly own a 1972 Pontiac LeMans (not the GTO), affectionately named **CONTRABAND**. After spending 20 years free from drugs and alcohol, I realize that my past with contraband shaped my life; getting high was the only source of joy I knew until I embraced sobriety. Now, my new "fuel for life" continues to be **CONTRABAND**.

My Car Condition:** All original with a rebuilt engine and transmission

Custom Paint:** A breathtaking finish that shimmers in the sunlight, featuring orange flakes and Candy brandy wine over a black base, making it truly stunning.

I began driving at 16, when gas was only $0.89 a gallon. My first car was a 1964 Impala, and at 24, I acquired a convertible 1969 Pontiac GTO. This is why I hold my Pontiac LeMans close it’s my **Time Machine**, taking me back to a carefree era of youth.

Community Engagement

Currently, I serve as a moderator for the **Hernando County Car Community**, where I enjoy capturing photos and videos of members’ vehicles to create engaging posts for everyone. Don’t hesitate to say hello to the camera when I stop by your car!

Although I may come across as the quiet guy who stands out, I find my place within this vibrant car community. When summer heat makes parking lots unbearable, I love riding my jet ski.

Join My Group

I’m also the founder of a Facebook group/page titled **“It’s an Addiction! No Rehab Needed.”** If you share a passion for cars and the adventures they bring, you’re my kind of enthusiast, and we need to **Ride or Die** with cars.

I look forward to meeting you at the next car meet!

Blossom

1996 R33 Skyline GTS. Prism Cherry blossom quick release steering wheel and bucket seats with a racing seat belt bar.

A 1996 R33 Skyline GTS non-turbo typically features a 2.0L RB20E or a 2.5L RB25DE engine, available in both coupe and sedan bodies with manual or automatic transmissions. Unlike the higher-performance turbo variants (GTS-t and GT-R), these engines are naturally aspirated, offering less power. The GTS models share many chassis and suspension advancements with other R33s, such as improved aerodynamics and an updated HICAS fourwheel steering system.

Featured car in Velocity Kings Retribution Movie

Some entry-level non-turbo R33 GTS models featured the 2.0-liter, single overhead cam RB20E engine, producing around 128 horsepower

The R33 generation introduced an updated version of the Super HICAS (High Capacity Active Steering) system, a computer-controlled system that used electric actuators to steer the rear wheels for improved maneuverability and stability.

In an effort to reduce weight despite the car's larger size compared to the R32, Nissan incorporated high-tensile steel, hollowed-out stabilizer bars, and aluminum components in the engine mounts, axles, and rims. The R33 featured an improved aerodynamic design with a higher fuel tank and a relocated battery to the trunk. Feature car in movie Ride or Die Velocity Kings

WARFARE

"Warfare" is no ordinary car. It was created to shine a light on the gospel of Jesus Christ. This was almost derailed with Ronnie Setser's fight against cancer, and with God’s grace he won! We believe the devil doesn't want this car on the road and has tried numerous times to halt this mission. The car features stunning custom airbrushed graphics by Ronnie Setser, depicting spiritual warfare on the driver's side and military warfare on the passenger side.

Under the hood, almost nothing remains stock. Chris started with an HHP Hellcat block, using all forged internals. WARFARE runs a D1X ProCharger which currently makes 12 lbs. of boost. The fuel system now includes a Fore Innovations triple pump configuration using 1650cc injectors and E85 to keep him fed. To handle the Florida heat, a water-to-air intercooler, and triple cooling fans have been added. The car sits on an Air Performance Air Ride suspension setup, ideal for dialling in the suspension at the track. The motor is paired with a GH Performance transmission, connected to a one-piece aluminum driveshaft. Other upgrades include Redeye axles and a Borla Atak exhaust system.

Cosmetically, "Warfare" boasts vertical doors that showcase the artwork beautifully. The car also features a DownForce Solutions diffuser and side splitters.

"Warfare" has run a best of 6.50 seconds at105 mph in the 1/8 mile on 12 lbs of boost at our local track. A special shoutoutto 1320 Motorsports fortheir critical role in getting the carto where it is today. We're excited to see what it can do as the weather cools down.

This car has brought us countless memories and experiences. We’ve been fortunate to take "Warfare" on Talladega Speedway, reaching over140 mph, and participate in car rallies like Tale ofthe Dragon. We've also had the honor of joining drive-bys for sick kids and birthdays.

Myfirst carwas a 73 Chevelle with a anemic 307. When your16, you justwant some cheap wheels that look cool. Thatwas almost45 years and have been an enthusiast ever since.

One piece of advice I'd like to share from my journey is to always plan forthe future. In my youth, I made the mistake of prioritizing car upgrades over paying bills, which led to trouble. Learn from my experience and keep your priorities in check. Ifyou'd like to follow our progress and see more of "Warfare," Please follow us on Instagram at @hospwr_

Thankyou fortaking the time to read about our journey. We hope "Warfare" continues to inspire and promote our message offaith.

My name is Jessica I’m 40 years old, I drive Damien my 2018 dodge charger Daytona. I started my passion for cars at a young age. The 1970 charger is the first car I everfell in love with afterthat its all I ever dreamed about. As I got older I always had a couple project cars, they helped me relax and get out of my head. No one liked that I was a female so into cars theywould call me a tomboy and say girls aren’t supposed to like cars in-till I started to go to car shows and I met so many awesome people in the car seen, they loved the idea of a girl so into cars! I started working for a body shop and learned so much! I always said one day I’m gonna have my charger and everyone would laugh and sayyea right good luck. Well I got a little inheritance, sold 2 of my cars and my motorcycle and bought my Damien! Best decision I ever made! Don’t give up on your dream it mighttake some time but eventuallyyou’ll getthere!

Blown Cash

Starting as little more than a frame in the backyard, "Blown Cash" is a 1955 Chevrolet 210 that has undergone a complete, ground-up transformation. Every piece ofthis carwas meticulously puttogether, turning itfrom a "jigsaw puzzle" into the stunning build you see today.

Underthe hood sits a potent 540 big-block Chevy engine topped with a 10-71 BDS blower and dual 750 CFM ATM carburetors

Power is sentthrough a Turbo 400 transmission equipped with robust stainless internals to a Fab 9 rear end with 3.73 gears. The aggressive stance is highlighted by massive 33x21.50R15 rear tires.

The carfeatures a custom interiorfrom Willie's Interior and a high-quality custom paint job by Ron Miller. This build was a true team effort, completed by myself, Ron Millerthe owner of Motor City Muscle and myfriend Donovan, with the help of close friends. This projectwas a special tribute to my oldest daughter, Erin Overcash, to make up for her sister, Alyssa, getting the Camaro.

Overcash

Atrue family legacy, this 1968 Chevrolet Camaro has been in ourfamilyfor overfour decades, originally purchased by myfather. The car has undergone a complete, ground-up restoration, transforming itfrom a factoryA/C base model into a high-performance show car.

The heart ofthis build is a 496 big-block Chevy engine enhanced with a 6-71 Dyers blower and twin 750 CFM ATM carburetors. It's paired with a Turbo 400 transmission featuring "bullet" aluminum internals for durability and a 12-bolt rear end. The car's exterior showcases a custom paint job expertly applied by Ron Millerthe owner of Motor City Muscle, while the interiorwas custom-crafted byWillie. This unique projectwas built in honor of my mother and is dedicated to my daughter, Alyssa Overcash.

1978 EL CAMINO

Owner & Builder Karl Saarts, Age 57

From Putnam Valley, NY, lived in Spring Hill, Florida since 1996 1978 Chevy El Camino. All mechanical work done by me.

The entire drivetrain, suspension, brakes, and electrical system have been replaced. The car now has a GM Performance 383 Stroker engine with a Holley Sniperfuel injection unit, MSD ignition system, March pulley setup, 700R4transmission with a manual lockup converter, a custom-made Ford 9" rearwith a traction lock unit, 3.55 gears, 31-spline Strange axles, and a 4" aluminum driveshaft.

Brakes front & rear are Wilwood disc brakes. Suspension front & rear is all QA1 tubular arms with oversized sway bars and QA1 adjustable coilovers.

The exhaust system is custom-made with 2.5" pipes coming off Doug's shorty headers and an H-pipe crossover.

Interiorfeatures a Dakota Digital dash, Procar racing buckets, and a custom-made center console with lightning rod shifters. Behind a hidden panel behind the seats is a Skar 350W amp running 2 8" Skar subs and a DS18 1200W amp running 2 6x9s and 2 3.5" speakers. The body has custom front & rear bumper panels, and the tailgate has been shaved to eliminate the license plate. Painted triple black.

Wheels are 17" Chip Foose customs with Nitto 555 tires. I've been playing with cars since the mid-eighties, and I guess what led me to the car scene is seeing all the different custom things people are doing to their cars to make them stand out, along with great memories of all the people and their cars I have met along the way. My advice to others is to do whatyou wantwith your car; don't let others bring you down. There's always going to be haters, and you will never please everyone, so do what makes you happy.

How long have you owned the Corvette?

I purchased the car from the original owners on May 1, 1995, so I have owned the car for 30 years. I saw the car in my old neighborhood back in 1981 and spoke to the owner to let him know how much I admired the car The original owner passed away, and in 1995, his wife put the Vette up for sale. Special thanks to Dave Peters at RPM of Tampa who customized the car to get it road worthy and reliable

Customizations/Modifications?

The body was taken off the car and the frame was sand blasted and powder coated. The Vette has a Flaming River Rack & Pinion with an electronic power steering pump and upper and lower tubular control arms. Jackie Garcia – Age 43

Born in the Bronx, NYC, now living in Brooksville, FL.

I drive a 1995 Toyota Celica, but not just any Celica! Mine is fully transformed into my dream ride: The WonderWoman Car.

I’ve been behind the wheel since I was 16 years old, learning on a stick shift. Racing runs deep in my blood my grandfather, dad, and uncles were all racers and amazing mechanics. Growing up as a grease monkey, I learned to love cars from the inside out.

Modifications:

• Engine: 1995 1.8 2zz single cam

• Spelab headers

• JDM spark plug wires & E3 spark plugs

• Transmission: 5-speed with shaved flywheel

• Stage 3 bronze particle clutch

One of my greatest inspirations is my late mother, who loved cars just as much as the men in myfamily. I’ll neverforgetwatching her race her Trans Am she had such a passion for driving fast and loving her rides.

This Celica is actually mythird one, butthis time I finally gotto bring my vision to life: owning a Wonder Woman car. It’s more than paint it’s a statement of strength, resilience, and following through on dreams.

My message: When you have a dream orvision, visualize it, believe it, and make it real.
