On our Silver Anniversary edition magazine cover we feature none other than hometown art connoisseur, Josh Leifold I sat down with local goes global Fort Lauderdale, Florida resident artist Josh Leidolf to discuss fashion, art, and culture for the 10th year cover of FLLFW MAGAZINE at his home inside of his private art collection, pieces from that collection are highlighted here inside our spring 2024 edition. Josh’s work has reached new heights and in his recent collaboration with NASA he intends to inspire the next wave of humanity with Elon Musk, Zero Gravity Company, and ultimately Scott Paige of Space Blue

Celebrating its milestone 10th year, Fort Lauderdale Fashion Week recently dazzled audiences with a spectacular showcase of style, creativity,

and innovation. The event, held in the vibrant city of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, brought together designers, fashion enthusiasts, and industry professionals from around the world to commemorate a decade of fashion excellence. From April 7th to April 13th, the city will be transformed into a runway of glamour and sophistication as top designers unveiled their latest collections. Attendees were treated to a diverse array of fashion shows, pop-up boutiques, panel discussions, and exclusive parties, all highlighting the evolution of fashion over the past ten years.

The 10th-anniversary celebration of Fort Lauderdale Fashion Week paid homage to the city's unique blend of coastal chic and cosmopolitan flair. Designers drew inspiration from the city's vibrant art scene, stunning beaches, and diverse cultural influences, resulting in collections that were both contemporary and timeless. One of the highlights of the event was the retrospective runway show, where iconic pieces from past seasons were showcased alongside new designs, illustrating the growth and innovation of the fashion industry over the past decade.

The show served as a reminder of the enduring influence of fashion and its ability to transcend time and trends.

In addition to the runway shows, attendees had the opportunity to engage with designers, stylists, and industry insiders through panel discussions and workshops. Fashion and Fun Take Center Stage at Fort Lauderdale Fashion Week’s Media Event!

FLLFW and Fort Lauderdale Fashion Magazine hosted an unforgettable event that transported attendees to the world of fashion. Held at the 227 Agency in Old Fort Lauderdale, the afternoon was filled with fun, networking, and great vibes that inspired and energized attendees. This kickoff was an introduction for the media to get a first-hand introduction on what to expect throughout the rest of the week. The fabulous Macielle Herrera hosted the event and ensured that everyone felt welcome and engaged throughout the afternoon. Attendees were treated to a tour of the museum, which was the perfect way to kick off an event dedicated to the art of fashion.

But the excitement didn’t end there. Sponsored beverages from Smart Water, Anna’s Cider, and Jungle Tea kept attendees refreshed and hydrated throughout the warm and sunny afternoon. The perfect addition to a day filled with fashion and networking! The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the opportunity for attendees to connect with designers, media representatives, and fashion experts. Fort Lauderdale Fashion Week, or FLLFW, is the go-to event for fashion lovers in Fort Lauderdale, offering an international platform for local designers to showcase their talent.

Attendees were able to gain practical information and valuable insights to help them develop strategies for growth in the fashion industry. This was made possible through the various talks and sessions held during the event, which covered topics ranging from sustainable fashion to influencer marketing.

But the real magic of the event was the opportunity for attendees to connect with industry professionals and hear the different journeys of their introduction and growth in the fashion industry. Take care of your skin from the inside out. Don’t forget your vitamins and supplements, such as vitamin E, vitamin C, beta carotene, collagen, etc., which can help boost healthy skin. Get rid of dead skin from the winter season. Exfoliate your skin at least twice a week using a very gentle exfoliator to not sensitize the skin.

Use the right cleanser. There are 3 types of cleansers: normal, creamy, and foamy. Spring is the transition from cold and dry to hot and humid, so it is best to use normal cleanser. However, if your skin is dry then use a creamy cleanser. Or if your skin is acne-prone, then use a foamy cleanser.

Sun protection is a must. Use SPF 15 or 30 and wear a sun hat for prolonged sun exposure

Keep your skin refreshed throughout the day with a facial mist. The best ones to use are those with antibacterial and antioxidant properties.

We don’t call it Beauty Sleep for nothing! Moisturize generously at night because the temperature is cooler, and the moisturizer will do its magic while you sleep to give your skin more hydration and boost your collagen production.

\ It is always a good rule to use serum, moisturizer, and primer under your foundation to protect your skin and help your foundation look flawless and last longer. However, as the weather gets warmer or if you’re short on time, use a BB cream for an all-in-one lighter foundation base.

Get rid of undereye circles for a fresh spring look. Use at least two concealer colors to create a perfect match for your skin tone and apply with a camouflage brush for the most natural look. Apply in outward and upward directions for a lifting impression.

Here are four staple colors for your lips for spring and into summer. Classic red is versatile – you can’t go wrong with red hot lips! Fuchsia or hot pink are perfect for spring because they resemble colors of spring blooms. Nude lips are vital for spring to complete any natural makeup looks. Make sure to choose the correct nude base on your lip’s color. And lastly, try chestnut lips.

Always use clean brushes, sponges, or beauty blenders for makeup application. Get fresh supply for spring or give your old supply a thorough cleaning. And why not start a new habit of cleaning after each use!

We sat down with local goes global South Florida resident artist Josh Leidolf to discuss fashion, art, and culture for the cover of FLLFW MAGAZINE spring 2024 cover. Josh’s work has reached new heights and in his recent collaboration with Space Blue and NASA he intends to inspire the next wave of humanity with NASA Mars Missions, Space Blue and Scott Page of the band Pink Floyd. Josh created the “Love is in our Genes’ ‘ installation that is now located on the moon aboard the lunar rover Odysseus in a radiation proof time capsule. We sat and spoke about what inspires his brand and how he is designing art and fashion and balances life, love, and his passion.

FLLFW: Your art is on the moon, What was the inspiration behind the artwork for this project?

JOSH: I can never look at the moon again in the same way. During the lunar landing party, the moon was full and I looked up and I felt overwhelmed with gratitude, excitement and pride knowing that my artwork was beaming back at humanity for eternity. I am fascinated knowing that at 42 I am building a legacy as the pieces I created will be there for generations to come. I was asked along with a small select group of International artists to commemorate mankind in this 21st century time period. I am a currency and commodity artist and I believe love to be the biggest commodity of all.

I generated 11 pieces from my “Love Is In Our Genes” series to be aboard this incredible mission. Although I do currency art transparently as a metaphor for truth and transparency, in the end, all that really matters is the amount of love that we give to others. As imperfect humans, all that we can aspire to do is help to walk each other home. I am so unbelievably grateful to Space Blue, NASA and my brother Scott Page from the band Pink Floyd for this incredible opportunity. Love most certainly is in our genes. We were born with love and we as humans are damn good at it. A few humans were taught to hate, but the power of love always has the opportunity to prevail and it will.

I wanted future humans or advanced aliens to one day find this art and understand the double helix genomic structure of our DNA merged with these lovely abstract hearts.

The final slide depicting my wife Alysse and I will hopefully be a bread crumb trail clue into what the heart shape meant to us as I believe if they can traverse the cosmos then they surely can unravel the double helix spiral mystery.

FLLFW: What impact do you hope your art will have on viewers or society as a whole?

JOSH: I am working to create financial freedom, social justice, and the perspective of gratitude to live sweetly even when life is salty. Perspective is your own decision. I am dedicated to the pursuit of truth and highlighting the best information possible for humanity moving forward. To allow them the best roadmap forward, whether through crypto currencies, true health strategies or pursuing relationships, loves and passions.

The event provided parents and children the opportunity to explore the latest trends and styles for the upcoming school year. From chic backpacks to stylish sneakers, Macy’s curated a range of fashionable and functional pieces to kick off the new academic term with style. Additionally, their latest summer children’s wear showcased vibrant colors, playful prints, and comfortable fabrics, perfect for the sunny days ahead.
