The Village House at Penick Village was constructed in the heart of their very active campus to serve as the community center for the residents. The LEED certified building houses Dining Rooms, Cafe, Bar, Kitchen, Chapel, Living Room, Multipurpose Room, Library, Activity Rooms, Beauty Parlor, Gift Shop, and Offices for the entire campus. The awe-inspiring twostory Lobby is adorned with railings custom-made for the space by North Carolina artist Dempsy Calhoun. The exterior of the building is designed to blend in with the remainder of the campus, to appear as if it has always been there.

Meadowmont Cottages

The Meadowmont development consists of 22 duplex buildings, two quad-plex buildings, and two six-plex buildings housing a total of 72 independent living units. The development was designed with craftsman-style architecture on a parcel of land immediately adjacent to their existing campus. The project was constructed in three successive phases. Blum assisted the team in establishing budgets and schedules in the preconstruction phase of the project, as well as, designing the fire protection, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical components of the cottages. Resident upgrades were handled using Blum’s industry leading resident selections system. The cottages are available in one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and one-bedroom with den plans ranging from 1,120 to 1,539 square feet. Residents are invited to enjoy the surrounding mountain views on cozy front porches, patios, or balconies. The cottages are a welcome addition to the existing 50-acre community of homes, condominiums, and apartments.
